April 20, 200620 yr My son and I want to spectate on a few trials to see if he fancies having a go. I keep finding trials dates on t'internet but they never give useful location info - for example http://www.motorcyclesport.org.uk/trials.htm Help - where can I find grid references or maps showing me where they are held in and around Derbyshire thanks Old Goat
April 20, 200620 yr Im sure someone from Derbyshire or around that area will be able to tell you all you need.
April 21, 200620 yr Most trials in Derbyshire are held around the Matlock area. Your best bet is to look in Trials and Motorcross news. Then ring the organiser up. They will be happy to tell you directions to their event. They are always desperate for new blood and or observers. Alternatively use the site above and get the number of the sec from the ACU site and ring them. A lot of clubs use the same land. Burrycliffe Quarry near Elton, Bracken Rocks near Whatstandwell and Grange Farm being three that come to mind. Hope to see you there.
April 21, 200620 yr Where abouts in Derbyshire are you from? I'm towards the top end of Derbyshire (Glossop way) so I do Macclesfield and Manchester17 trials usually: www.manchester17.org.uk & www.macctrials.org.uk
April 21, 200620 yr Tother end Derby. Just getting back into trials after a 20 year absence. Seeing as i'm too old, too fat and with absolutely no talent whatsoevr i took one look at modern trials and thought? wheres the nearest pub So this year, hopefully, i will be mostly doin "Classic and Twinshock trials". Well they at least looked more like what i remembered a trial was So the two clubs i will be riding at will be Peak Classic, i dont think they have a website, and Midland Classic http://www.midlandclassic.co.uk/index2.html You never know we may cross paths? Enjoy your trialling
April 24, 200620 yr Author thanks for the replies folks - there's something to go on there, but is there no list of grid references anywhere on t'internet? and why don't organisers provide the info with the date and stuff - might encourage new blood form the net surfing community Edited April 24, 200620 yr by goat
