can anyone out there in betaland tell me if 2004 plastics will fit my 2002 rev3? the 04 has the easier access airfilter but it would be no great hardship if i still had to remove the whole mudgaurd as on the 02,as long as the 04 mudgaurd fits over the 02 airbox.

The plastics from 2003 and onwards will fit the 2002. You will need to also get the air filter cover part number 12-73213-0-97 and the Gasket Seal 16-75910 (2004 part numbers) plus the gaurds themselves.

A couple of things to bear in mind - the '04 (and later) plastics don't come with the metal grille inserts (must be ordered seperately - or make your own from an old sieve!) and the black plastic air filter retainer must be modified slightly to accomodate the new airbox lid.
