Whats the advice on the flame guard around the air filter? Should it be in or out?

    We took it out, and put it back in at section 2 !!!! We found it miss-fired at high revs ( when going up big steps ).

    As the gauze is refered to as a flame gaurd, is there any chance of the filter catching gfire ?
