August 18, 200620 yr I reckon that there's a fair few of you here who are pretty computer literate. I've got a really annoying oproblem with my pc, all it is, is that when I put the My Pictures folder on the desktop, it won't show the filenames of the images in the folder when they're on thumbnail view. As in, it looks like this: If I simply rename the folder as just Pictures then that solves the problem, but it creates another in that when I click Windows links to My Pictures it creates a new folder in my documents with the sample pictures in it. Does anyone know what I can do to make the filenames reappear in My Pictures please? Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks in advance, Rich. Edited August 18, 200620 yr by Felix
August 18, 200620 yr Try this. Open the folder as you have it displayed then: Go to Tools>Folder Options then click on the View Tab and then click on Restore Defaults bottom right Then Apply then at the Top click on the buttons Apply to all Folders and Reset all Folders Let me know if that works
August 18, 200620 yr should just create shortcuts to the original location as these are system folders, then it wouldnt have been a problem in the first place. K.
August 18, 200620 yr Author Nooo, you see I'm an organisational freak with OCD, and I hate shortcuts, they look so untidy
August 18, 200620 yr Author Perhaps there are many shortcuts on my desktop but none of them are folders are they? All the folders are at the top and then programs are organized around the edges, the whole screen isn't icons, I hate it when people do that...
August 18, 200620 yr heres my desktop no shortcuts - no clutter - and I even removed the recycle bin as well Then theres my desktop with the widgets turned on (TouchtheWire monitors the listed websites to check their status and reports back if there is a fault)
August 18, 200620 yr Author I like to have everything to hand, but my icons are all organised in order of relevance to each other, I like my desktop so ugghh !
