  1. I haven't tried this yet.. But something I have in mind to do is change the hall throttle response. I believe the hall sensor throttle has an open collector output that provides between 1V and 4V (WOT) to the controller. To reduce the power delivery you want it to provide between 1V and say 3V (WOT) instead, i.e. the same throttle opening results in a lower max response, so the sensitivity is effectively increased. Two possible approaches. 1.Build a little circuit to do the scaling and offset. Todo. 2. Open the throttle assembly and file down the magnet at the upper opening. I'll experiment a bit in the next few weeks and post my results here. Cheers
  2. I'm new to the electric trials game, but we can ride the 20 for about an hour before it gets down to 3 led's. By which time we're tired, but the bike still rips! Granted we're still beginners and riding on the low power setting. This is with the standard SLA's. Maybe in a few months time we may run into limitations with the SLA's, but for now I've been pleasantly surprised with the longevity. Maybe get your batteries checked? I think it also makes a difference if the rest of the drive train is well maintained,i.e. brakes not dragging.
  3. Hi everyone. My first time posting in this forum, excluding the one in introductions. Recently got into trials after 20 years of road riding. Got an Oset 12.5 for my son (4), followed soon after by an Oset 20 for myself. Which the wife then appropriated Anyway, am having some difficulty adapting to the clutchless electric thing. Plus the 20 is very potent.. My reflexes feel too slow and my muscle memory too deep to adjust easily. I've had a few "whiskey throttle" incidents, especially when attempting standing wheelies. The motor is stronger than the back brake, so I have not been able to catch the bike once it starts getting away from me. So. I made a mod. I put a throttle cutout switch on the rear brake lever. Now when I grab the rear brake the motor cuts out and the brake can do its job. Found it make a world of difference to me. Might be useful to someone else too..
  4. Greetings everyone. I'm based in Johannesburg, South Africa. I've been riding road bikes for the last 20 years but have only recently gotten interested in trials. Bought an Oset 12.5 for my 4yr old son to get him started. This was soon followed by an Oset 20 for myself, which the wife then appropriated The back yard has been landscaped into a little trials track and we are now riding as a family every other evening. Suffice to say the bug has bitten
