Yes it was easier than Hedley usually sets out due to the threat of black ice which failed to cause much problem (except for Paul "Outlane" Jackson who fell off on the black ice riding down the hill to the start! Chin and pride were bruised. Never seen such a high standard of rider at our events before. And you didn't mention Scottish pre65 winner Paul Heys and Manx classic winner John Maxfield both of whom found themselves knocked off the top due to dropping a couple of icy dabs.
