I’m new to this site, and I am hoping that some knowledgeable people on here can help me with some information on my new project.
I have bought a trials sidecar that had been fitted to a Fantic 303 with the intention of fitting it to my aging Suzuki SP400.
My main intention is to use it for Green Laning and perhaps the odd Classic / Long Distance Trial if we can manage some semblance of competence.
I have two main questions regarding it, firstly does any one recognise it as a particular manufacturer’s product? All the welds except the suspension arm are either brazed or bronze welded and it is clearly professionally made.
More importantly the pivot for the suspension arm is totally knackered and the sidecar wheel flops about like the caster on a Morrisons trolley. I am not sure what components are inside, but suspect that there may be some very knackered needle bearings. The suspension arm pivots on some sort of bar which is attached to the frame by two bolts either side. Unfortunately the use of gentle force has not managed to dissemble the parts so I’m not sure what is inside, but I am sure that everything will be worn out. I can't start to think about lining up the outfit until I know which way the sidecar wheel should be pointing!
Is there a source of spares for these, or do I need to find someone with a lathe?
Any help or advice regarding the above or tips on mounting the sidecar would be gratefully received.

Pretty sure its a Bruce Rushton chair, you should be able to contact him, he has links on the sidecar trials sites ie facebook, sidecar trials .com.
Good luck

Thanks for the info, I have been back in the garage, clouted things a little harder and got them apart. I found two needle roller bearings and a stepped pivot shaft, which is well worn. The bearings are no problem, but the shaft is a job for someone with a little more precision than a MIG welder and angle grinder.
