Hi, Fantic 307 1991, 250 cc air-cooled. Running on about 50:1 petrol oil mix, and ran fine for a full days 'playing' at the weekend, left with fuel turned off in shed, got it out yesterday, started up, didn't get warm before stopping it, and it just won't run now. It will start, will run for a minute or so, but then dies and won't start again without a plug clean and re-fit. Tried a brand new NGK B9ES plug, same thing happens. Checked fuel flow from tank to carb and all seems well, no obstructions in either airbox or in exhaust, though there is a lot of black oily spray over the rear of the front mudguard as though the exhaust is leaking, which it doesn't appear to b…

I 'competed' (in the loosest possible term!!) in my first trial sunday just passed, and whilst not terribly successful..... (terrible prob the best description!) it was most enjoyable!! started off with a bit of a nightmare, clutch was slipping big-time, but this was due to me changing levers. simple adjustment would have cured it, but being all nervy, in a rush and being all fingers and thumbs, changed back to 'spare' lever, job done. my first ever section turned out to be one of the worst on the course (imho), and due to the fact i forgot to let my rear tyre down (after changing it and leaving it at 20psi!!) i managed to look a complete t*t by having about as much gri…

Hi ! After an absence of 12 years I decided to start riding again, so I am piecing together my kit once more. Does anyone have any comments on Wulfsport clothing ? (Trousers, shirt and Jackets). Compared to some trial clothing they seem value for money but I haven't seen anyone wearing any. If anyone could help I would appreciate it. RevRider

Given the age-old problems of club trials is that there are never enough people to observe ? What about using technology to allow you to run that 2-lap 20 secion trial you've also wanted to. The topic started in the pub last night and I've made some notes on my web pages about the two options (as I see it) in looking at technology. Interested in any feedback you have or if anyone has already tried this. I want to run some practical experiments in the near future.....

Hi, Below is a draft club membership application with a liability waiver. If any of you are lawyers, police officers or knowledgable about waivers, I would appreciate your feedback. The intent of the waiver is to protect the club from members and members from members. We have AMA insurance for events. Thoughts? Hey guys, Im about to replace my fork oil seals, I have seen that the recomended weight is 7. Im finding it pretty hard to get hold of 7 and i was wondering if 7.5 will be ok? I'm aware it'll be a tiny bit slower rebound but will it nacker the internals of my forks? Thanks alot.

We are building the biggest trials rider social networking site in the world and I'm thinking some fireworks might entice more trials riders to join Face Book. Log onto Facebook and search PLONKERS TRIAL then request to join and spread the word. Come on now Lane old buddy, bring it!!!! Jen has added a "Women of Trials" so all you women trials riders are invited to join.

How long do rear wheel bearing last for you? I replace the one on my 4rt about 3-4 months ago with good quality skf bearings. Last night while I was installing a new sprocket I notices fhpse. Eating are already very notchy feeling, but there is any play yet. It seems to me they should last a whole lot longer. I mostly use the bike from trail riding. I would guess I have about 400 miles on these bearing. The have see their fair share of mud but never with more than a garden hose. I even Froze the bearing and heated the hub so I didn't need to use much effort to press them in when installed. Any thoughts? Thanks

Last night I read a fab career history in a magazine, about Nigel Birkett which was a really good article So it set me thinking about all my heroes of yesteryear, when I was a kid and in those days it was Rathmell/Lampkin/Andrews/Birkett et al Also there's been some fab interviews on RetroTrials So who's your hero?
