  2. If you ride a road bike as well as a trials bike, do you try & keep your feet up? I try to, at junctions, traffic lights etc, usually end up putting a foot down though if it's a long wait

We rode in the scott trial last week and one of our biggest fears was a front puncture as they are very time consuming and a general massive pain to sort by yourself half way up a moor. We did use a heavy duty tube with slime in it and did avoid punctures but you will never know how close you actually got to getting one. I have since noticed that Nitromousse list a "plushie" for a Michelin x11 and Dunlop front tyre that gives 6 to 8 psi These seem ideal for the Scott/SSDT I know that a mousses historically were generally regarded as too hard and had little feel to them but they seem to have come on technically (so they all claim) in recent t…

  4. Hi. Anyone here use a trail push bike to practice on when they can't get out on their trials bike? I was just wondering if they could be worth a purchase?

The forks on my Climber are a bit "Donky", by that I mean then need a bit of weight over the front befre they go "donk" and a little more, then they go "Donk" again. When bouncing them furiously they seem ok but they're not too smooth on the low speed stuff. So far I have: 1) Slackened off the yoke pinch bolts and bounced the forks hoping they'd line up. 2) Used a ratchet strap to wind the forks right down, then slackened off the pinch bolts a bit, this helped a bit. 3) Loosened off the axle clamps and shifted them round a bit to see if it would fall into position. 4) All of the above in unison. Any ideas? They are USD forks that were smooth as silk apparently befo…

I fancy some new gear as my Clice is becoming tatty after 4 years. I dont want Hebo as everyone seems to have Hebo and liked the look of Exide, but does anyone have any views on the clothing as to its quality and does it stand up to the job.

For those that know me or have seen my vehicles they know that I have a small sticker addiction. A fellow trials riders wife turned me onto a little evil machine that allows me free rain to get any decal I want on demand. I am not into tattoos so I guess this is the way of me expressing myself. Case in point the van back glass. (note picture is outdated but read on) So here I am Friday night and I have plenty of other constructive things that I should be doing and I cant turn my engineering brain off so I head to my local craft store to enhance an already cool machine. By enhance I have enabled myself to create my own gaskets on demand. Let me explain. My …

my rear brake is getting a little noisy. the pads got plenty of material left on them but they are starting to squeek. for the sake of < 15 qwid im going to pop some new pads in. after looing at my disc there are a couple of score marks on it so i have been thinking of getting it skimmed? a new disc is more than i want to spend at the moment, and an engineers will only charge a tenner if that to skim it smooth and check it for flat. just wondering is there tolerance on bike discs like the car equivalent? anybody done the same?

Two age old questions? How could you 5 me? I wasn't stopped with my foot down! How could you 5 me? I didn't roll back with my foot down! We've been dealing with those questions as a club for 30 years. So we're toying with just counting dabs...up to 5. That's pretty cut and dry. He either put it down or he didn't. The arguments are: A rider can be stopped for a long time with a foot down and only get a 1. A rider can roll back multiple times with only one foot down and get more than one shot at an obstacle and only get a 1. Anyone have any experience with only counting dabs?
