General Trials Talk

General discussion on the sport of Observed Motorcycle Trials

  1. Hi Folks, Chasing some advice / knowledge about Gas Gas shocks fitting Sherco's. My son has been offered a second hand 5 way adjustable Reiger shock at a good price. But shock has come off a 2015 Gas Gas 300, does anybody know if it will fit a 2018 Sherco 300 Factory ?? I've been onto some Reiger websites but cant find any info. Thanks in advance, Gary

You can spend hundreds of pounds servicing your bike but it usually feels exactly the same afterwards (and sometimes worse!!) However for the first time in my life I feel like its money well spent. My bike is only 6 months old but after a new chain and sprockets (renthal) and new bearings on either side. the bike feels alot smoother and quicker, I cant beleive the difference, just goes to show how sometimes, your bike may feel fine but in actual fact, it has been slowly getting worse over time, so slowly that you never even noticed! Looking forward to a lenghthy ride tomorrow. big thanks to everyone who gave me advice on changing the bearings. All the best Tom

While at the World round, I saw a couple of 125's (GG and Sherco) with vacuum driven Fuel pumps similar to what we use on our mowers. They appeared to be running a standard carb on these machines. Can someone shed some light on this for me?

Hi folks. I've not long treated myself to a TRS One R 250 and was hoping you could please advise on what tools I should have in the garage for maintenance and repair? Size of socket sets etc? My knowledge is pretty limited so it will be a learning on the job scenario as stuff breaks and maintenance is required. Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hello everyone, I managed to get out on my bike yesterday for the first time after it's been back from the shop getting work done on it and I've found something that's really doing my head in lol, the clutch only bites literally a mm or 2 from when the lever is fully out, does anybody know how I can adjust it so the clutch bites when the lever is about half way out? It's just had a clutch master cylinder rebuild if that's anything to do with it i don't know.

This might come in handy. Good to keep it bookmarked. Check the #'s on the left and scroll down to the 7000's if you're using BP5ES. Sparkplug cross reference

I've just been reading last weeks TMX review of the Vic Brittain (I know it was ten days ago). What struck me as interesting was Iwan Roberts placing third on the A route on a 125 Beta and Chris Alford winning the 50/50 route on a 125 Gas Gas. It makes you think about how much bike you really need and how many riders might actually improve their technique and even their results on a smaller engine bike.

Having just finished reading the 'Samy Miller' story i was wondering if there are any other books out there, i'm not bothered about the age, i quite like older stuff. Are there many or any more books out there on Trials or Trails riders, can anyone recomend anything?

Hi all, Is it usual for tubeless tires to leak down somewhat after sitting for about 3 weeks? I do not have rim tape as it is the newer type of rim and it does not appear to have a hole in so the only place may be the stem. This is a Michelin X-Lite. Thanks. Brian
