I ordered a Mikuni Carburetor for my vintage bike from Pro-Flo at the end of March. They told me they were expecting a shipment in and that I would have my carb by April 6. Well, it is now April 23 and I have yet to see a carburetor arrive at my house. I have called them 3x in the past 2 weeks and sent them one email. They have yet to return any of them. Has anyone else had trouble with these guys? I advise everyone to stay away from them!

Can anyone talk me through removing and re-fitting both the front and the rear tyre's on a 08 Gas Gas? Any bikes ive had in the past have always been done by a dealer because it has needed balancing, but its not nessisary on a trials bike so its probably time I learned how to do it myself! Ive got an air compressor if this makes things easier? Any help much appreciated! Tom

  5. I have a recurring issue with the rear (tubed) tyre becoming partially unseated. There's no problem with getting it to seat initially - a bit of lube, inflate it to 60 or 70 psi and it pops on nicely, all the way around. The problem occurs after I deflate it to my normal pressure (4 psi) and ride it. A section of the bead slips off its seat, about 250mm in length. I can reseat it easily but when I deflate it back to riding pressure and ride the bike it happens again. The rim looks fine, as does the tyre itself - both are fairly new. Suggestions? Superglue and self-tapping screws?

When first started my Gas Gas 250 pro 05 will not rev out fully it sort of labors, stutters when revving fully and when put in gear it stutters too. Though when up to temp it sorts itself out and seems alright ! I have been adjusting the mix screw, could this be the problem ? Many thanks for any reply's, Stuart.

Newbie question, so I've gotta buy a new clutch lever, snapped the end off the one on the bike now. Thinking about replacing the brake lever too with one that's shaped so it's a little easier to reach with the one finger, not sure that would be the thing to do on the clutch side due to it not disengaging the clutch fully when it's pulled in, although I seem to have more free play on the clutch lever. Lot's of choices on levers, short, medium and longs, which is the best for someone with smaller hand. Thanks

Hi All, I am in the middle of doing a cosmetic restoration on Fantic 245 and am ready to start on front and rear guards. They have not gone to a state that justifies replacement, but there are some age related scratches as you would expect and age related tarnishing to the plastic. I'm not trying to make them look new but respectable before applying new sticker kit. Anyone else out there been up against the same task and how have they talked it? Any advise gratefully appreciated, Thanks.

the oil drain plug on my 02 beta is stuck in and the allen key hole is chewed up. The drain plug doesn't have the fibre washer on either. I have removed the bashplate but there isn't a lot of the side of the bolt to grab. I have thought of cutting a groove in it with a hacksaw blade and undoing with a screwdriver and if that dont work put a screwdriver against the groove and give it a hit to loosen it. any better ideas? would leaving ice on it help?

Last Friday I was riding the whole day in rainy weather. As the day progressed I had more and more problems with my Carb slide sticking, until I finally could not continue riding. I found water on the slide (round slide Keihin). I can only think of the water getting to the slide through the throttle cable. Any tips on how to fix such a problem ? I have a 1998 Scorpa 280 Easy. Thanks.

Moved to France about a year ago and have been trying to find out if there are any twinshock trials in my area (Limousin). Have so far discovered the '3 Days of the Indre' and '4 Days of the Creuse' trials which, apparently, cater for twinshocks. BUT... I still haven't discovered anything about a rumoured twinshock trials championship series. Anyone know if such a series exists? Also, any info about joining a French trials club would be much appreciated. Have heard of a 'St. Christophe Moto Club' which is apparently near Gueret and, so I've heard, caters for twinshock trials. Apparently Charles Coutard's dad is the man who could probably provide all the answers. Anyo…

Hi all I'm close to buying a trials bike to use for local trail riding and playing about - and I might do the odd trial from time to time too. I live in the Frech Alps and have been tooling about on my DRZ400. It's fine on the jeep tracks, but all around me are amazing looking 'goat' tracks and areas to 'play' which the DRZ is just way to big and heavy for. So, cue the trials bike. The last trials bike I had was a twin shock TY175 back in the early 80's when I was riding class C. I was just wondering what sort of fuel range I might get out of a modern (say 1998 onwards) bike? I'm only planning to spend around 12 to 15 hundred quid, so buying a Scorpa Long Ride for exam…
