We currently have 4 trials manufacturers marketing bikes (Montesa/Honda; Beta; Gas Gas & Sherco). Two more appear on the verge of relaunching (Scorpa & Xispa/XPA) Two more revived brands have new bikes that may imminently be launched (Greeves & Ossa) Can such a small sport as trials really support eight manufacturers? I suspect not and whilst I would like it to be untrue I suspect the enthusiasm and optimism of the new entrants may be clouding their commercial judgement. How many of these eight do you think will be viably making & selling bikes in two years time when the WTC next arrives in Fort William?

Hi guys I really do not know witch forum is the right one for this request, so the moderators/administrators should feel free to move the subject. So here goes. I have been Trial riding for the last 7 years, and love it dearly. I´m am (and has been for some time), active in the development of Danish Trial, both on the national and club scene. 2 year back I was blessed with a baby boy, and he is now beginning to find his daddy’s motorcycle madness interesting. So it only natural that I am looking for ways to introducing him to the sport of Trial. But – searching the web high and low hasn’t produced any ideas on how to make that introducing to the sport. I have he…

Hey Andy I noticed we have many new members who post question on here. Great that they do, however, many of them do not post what country they are in so it is hard to provide answers that are somewhat country specific. Is there any way that when a person signs up that they must provide what country they are in as a basic pre-requisite to being on this site? Thanks Billy

A Diadora Stone boot was found at our Welsh National 4 weeks ago. A notice was put on the results on the web, but didn't make it on to the hard copy results. It's an almost new boot, so someone must be a bit miffed. We thought someone would ring but we've heard nothing. Some bits of Wales haven't got access to "t'interweb" so if you live near the bristol channel could you shout across the water for me. Seriously though, Welsh peeps please pass the word or let me know if you know of someone who's lost it. I'll bring it to the next Welsh National at Neath next week anyway. Here's one to dream about. I'm getting increasingly disillusioned with my job (IT Project Manager) and think more and more about quitting. I'd love to make a living in something trials related. I keep thinking about working out how to get hold of some land to allow Trials practice on and maybe club events. I know there's lots of red tape .... but .... Would there be enough income to make a living ? Within the UK where d'you think this would succeed best ? Would you pay, how much, for as good practice site ? What would you do ?

Just starting out in trials and was hoping for some advice with an issue I’m having. I’m now reasonably confident with basic balance and control on flat stuff and going over small stuff (up to say 50cm). Ive also starting rolling down banks reasonable confidentially, even steeper ones say getting on for 45deg+. I’m having an issue that I’ve experienced twice now when trying a drop off. When I practice a drop off on a token ledge (30cm onto flat ground), it all goes fine. But when I try something bigger or a drop off that’s onto a hill, I’ve had this issue that the bike starts to rapidly accelerate around when my front wheel touches the ground, it flys away …

After observing the sidecars at the Inter Centre team trial I thought I'd give it a go with my son as it look's fun I've bought a trials sidecar from ebay and now want to go about fitting it to my Y2k Sherco 290. Has anyone got any pictures of how a sidecar should be mounted to a Sherco frame? I'm puzzled as to how the lower mount point should be near the footpeg. I'm assuming the left foot peg is left in place? Thanks in advance for any advice or pictures Mick

Updated and Edited. I've left in but struck out comments that I believe are unfair. Final conclusion - installer error. 50 hours ago (actually more like 40) I replaced my 350 hour old OEM Beta Evo linkage bearings with an All Balls kit. Suffice to say that you get what you pay for, or less. Today I pulled the linkage apart for a 50 hour service and found every roller in every bearing has lost an end guide tit. The resulting mess of debris and ground up metallic paste seized some bearings and badly wore others. What absolute rubbish! A total waste of time, effort and money. BUYER BEWARE! These things are totally unfit for purpose. Below is a ph…

Many Thanks for all the advice on how to remove a tyre from the rim, some sound advice and some best left be, Now that my new tyre is back on the wheel, How do I get the bead baxck on the rim so I can blow it up, air pressure alone does not work, is there some trick way, I once saw Clarkson on top gear put Lighter fluid in a deflated tyre then throw a match at it the explosion nicely popped the tyre back onto the rim and inflated it too, I wont be trying that though, well not just yet. Cheers, Vaughan.
