I get fed up with trials being referred to as "a race" or "grand prix" Sooner people get back to calling them observed or reliability trials the better. Words like race and grand prix conjure up images of speed and hoards of noisy bikes tearing up the countryside. This impression will only result in land being lost, higher insurance and is an open goal for the numerous organisations that hate off road motorcycling.

After watching multiple videos stressing the importance of covering the rear brake when the front wheel is in the air, I'm finding it very hard to do. I've been on motorcycles for decades, but trials is totally new to me. I'm riding an '02 Edition GasGas 280TXT, and the brake lever is so tiny and tucked-in I struggle to find it with my boot toe. Is that normal placement/size for a trials bike? It seems incredibly hard to jam my foot in to find it, yet it looks original and not bent. The ONLY trials bike I've ever seen is the one I'm riding, BTW. Thanks guys!

Hi all, Just been trying to fit a tubeless tyre to my Montesa 2000 (front). Only just bought the bike. Used to have a tube in it, so I left the tube in, but the tubeless tyre wont seem to bead on that rim. Are they VERY different...(tube and tubeless front tyres??) I thought it wouldnt matter. AND..in that case...could I fit a tube type front tyre, on my Beta Rev 3 that is meant to have a tubeless front tyre Might seem like a strange question, but tyres are VERY hard to come by here in HK, so you often have to "grab what you can" I have now however, officially given up trying to get the tubeless tyre to fit on the front of the MOntesa....after much sweat and swearin…

I was reading in a science journal last night that the science development team at Kwik Fit have developed a new exhaust system for 2 stroke motorbikes that changes the tone to sound like a 4 stroke. This it appears is to 'fool' the environmentalists at Motorbike Trials competitions to think we are all riding 4 strokes therefore complying with the new regulations that have been proposed. I quote from the journal. This looks great, What do you think of this then ?

Morning everyone Is it right that the only place you can find out which trials are on in the uk is the t+mx news? Is there anywhere else? I know there is a calendar on here but that does not list everything.

Hi, I want to adjust my Showa shock rebound, to make it more hoppy. I've set the pre load to 80mm sag as advised by a friend. I can't find instructions online for how to correctly set the re bound. Can anyone point me to a technical document? Or give advice for re bound setup? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Looking to get a Beta road legal. It's already reg'd, I've got a decent insurance quote too. However, in relation to the number plate - is there a legal minimum requirement on the size? Is this enforced by the law or is there an exemption for 'competition' bikes used on the road? I've seen the YOU HAVE USED WORDS OR A PHRASE WHICH ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THIS WEBSITE. PLEASE DELETE YOUR POST/TOPIC. DO NOT TRY TO CIRCUMVENT THE FILTERS IN PLACE ON THIS WEBSITE site where the plate sits below the rear mudguard, (i think this is plastic - but would it have to be made of metal and reflective to be legal?) Could I get away with yellow plastic vinyl stuck on the mudguard…

The michlin x-11 comes in a tube type and a tubeless type. As I look at various sites to order a d803 i can see no such distintion. does the d803 come in both a "tubless" and a "tube type"? this is for my 06 300 pro so I just need to be sure I get a tubless. Prices here in the states are all over the place--as low as 57.00 US TY sirs

I’ve just bought myself a bike after around 25 years out of the sport. While I’m getting the rest of the gear together, I’m just tweaking and setting up the bike. Does anyone have any suggestions on building up the clutch side grip to resemble that of the throttle side so they feel even? I dont have massive hands but find a standard size grip a bit on the small size. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. 👍🏻

Is it just me or is the buzz and updates just not happening on TC now compared to a few years ago ? Just looked for the info on the new 2008 bikes on TC and very little there ... I know there's more ? ... This is by no means a dig at the site or Andy but it's been on my mind for a while now and felt i needed to get it off my chest ..... things have gone slow, but then agiain we were all spoiled when andy done the world tour and posted daily updates, pics and vids ..... all said and done, TC is still the best trials site around. I'd be interested in seeing basic stats for this site - number of visitors / members for over the past few years ... that would give us a real …
