Jez @ Haven trialsport for putting himself out so much to get me my new front wheel ready for the weekend Not only was it a great price but he`s also a great guy and did a lot just too get me mobile again (perhaps he enjoys seeing the carnage?) My 13 year old son has started learning to ride a motorbike, and is cutting his reeth on a sy250 scorpa which is on long term loan from a friend. It's a little big for him, but has been fine to get the basics. I'd intended to move him onto a 125cc which might be a little lighter and easier to manage, but a couple of friends have suggested he stick with the 250. What's the consensous on the best route to build his skills and confidence? Is there any advantage of moving him to a 125 or should he stick with the older 250?

Is anyone else in the UK watching the NATC coverage on Pulse (UK sky Channel 208, 3-4pm and am)? I'm really impressed to have some regular trials on UK TV at last! Even the Hillclimb and Supermoto keep me amused! I assume you guys across the pond get regular NATC coverage? Just wish it was the same for the British championship! Or maybe it is and I haven't found it yet....... (answers on a postcard please!) Anyways people in the UK - watch Pulse! I figure we have to support regular trials coverage wherever we can get it! Andy - Just realised I may have contrevened the rules on posting with Pulse being a UK specific channel. Apologies and please move if necessary!!

Don't know how some of you feel on this subject but here goes . Sorry but this subject has been in the back of my mind for ages . I am completely amazed by some of the bikes (road and off road ) that are being touted as " classic" . Bikes what were crap then and are still crap now going for silly money .Not saying that they've not had good ( not em all that's for sure ) jobs done on them ,but for god's sake . I saw an add for a Honda 750 saber .Grotesque looking ,crap quality , i,ll handling junk . Assuring selling point "Great drive" "collectable classic " . If that bike is a classic , i'll platt ***** ! Please keep in mind I am poor but I do have a new Michelin X lite tire to put on if I must. I need to "milk" parts/tires but I don't want it to effect my learning curve. Im new to trials and train every day. I have read you guys flip tires and would like to know by trials standards if this tire is stuffed or if I flip it ill get better tracction. If its affecting my lurning, ill put the new one on. What say you about its condition? Will the bike behave differently with some new rubber? My first trial is in 20 days.

Is it safe to steam clean a trials bike once in a while? I currently use Muc-Off and a pressure washer, results are pretty good but could be better in hard to reach or stained areas. You see some really really shiny bikes around, so either they use a steam cleaner, they never get ridden properly or they spend 6 days a week cleaning it with a toothbrush? Obviously would have to be careful with steam around the stickers but will seals etc be OK?

Hi I know im not the one to come up with this but I couldnt find a pic of one when I needed it. Some bikes (my13 evo 300) dont have a floating spacer inside the hub. The spacer tube has a lip that makes it almost impossible to drive the opposite bearing out with a drift and hammer. Find a piece of pipe as close to your axle diameter as you can (a bit smaller is fine just not bigger). Find a raw bolt that will fit inside the pipe. Cut a few (I did 2 but 4 or 6 would be better) slots in the end of the pipe. Weld a T Handle onto the pipe. Not good at explaining but it should look like the pic or similar. First time I'm attempting the beginner route in a local trial tomorrow! Been practising since September, having seen other trials put on by this club I've got an idea of the difficulty level, feeling more confident after more practice. Last time I went to one of their trials I wimped out and practised on the conducted route instead, haha, not tomorrow! Having talked to the land owner he sad it will be over muddy banks, through a stream and woods. Grip will be interesting. My goal is to complete all 10 sections over 4 laps, never-mind about the points first time out, I just want to finish and do my best. Hi all, i am contemplating treating myself to a pair of xc-ting neoprene gloves for christmas, cos i am fed up with soggy gloves on cold wet days. I was wondering if any of you have tried them, and, in particular whether the extra thickness (i presume) of the material causes much less feel at the bars/levers. I also presume (Doing a lot of presuming here!!) that they will be a bit more protective against gorse bushes and the like. Any feedback appreciated.

looking for an hour meter for my new bike. Ive never had one before, but fancy the ones with the tacho read out. As with most electronics, im sure there is good and bad out there.....so whats good? Any recommendations on which make to go for please?

Is there a bit of kit available that you could put in your pocket & it could be set to record your location at say 20 yard intervals? Information required is distance travelled & the ability to provide location references.
