New Member . Have been shopping for a first trials bike .Thought id like to give it a go. The bikes ive been seeing for sell in my area are early 2000's and earlier . The older bikes seem to have a lack of available parts .and the newer bikes are out of my budget. So im struggling a bit. Been riding for quite a while . from street to mx ,mostly dual sport now .the road bikes don't get much love anymore. just saying hello

1999 cota 315r has a broken lower right fork bracket. The front forks are Paoili 38mm. It seems to be common for the clamp to break as this one has but this one also has a hair line crack between the oil chamber and the axle. Kind of weird finding an oil leak in your front axle, anyway trying to find a replacement for it, or if that does not work out a replacement set of lowers or another set of forks. As a newbee I am not in contact with anyone involved with trials, and any advise is welcomed. If you know if the Beta 38mm lower will work please let me know which model it is. Thanks to you who made the replies in my introduction

Hello all, After more than 40 years of street riding, 10 years of road racing and 20 years of riding dirtbikes I finally bought a Trials bike. Non of my previous experience seems to add up to a hill of beans when it comes to the Trials Bike I'm sure the Trials bike will greatly enhance all my other forms of riding. I have only had it out a few times, mostly trail riding, and look forward to getting involved more with the sport.

Hi all Just purchased a gas gas 280 to learn and play with. Based in Fife, Scotland. 47 years old and need to get fit! Looking for advise on all the basics; What oil/ratio? Tyre pressures, suspension setup etc. Also do not have a clue on kit, where and what to buy. I have experience of various road bikes, but no off road experience. In at the deep end!

Hi everyone, just saying hello from North Thailand. I'm back to the trials bike after a break of 30 years (last bike was Mick Andrews Rep Ossa) and will be in the UK soon for a month. I would like to get some one to one trials tuition from an expert for a couple of days in the North Yorshire / Cumbria area. Tried a search but could not find anything relevant, anybody have any experience with a trials trainer in this area? Cheers Daz

It occurred to me the other day that I still had my old TY175 safely tucked away in my Grans barn. Not yet seen it's current state as i am serving in Germany, but it is unused since before I left school over 15 years ago and joined the Army! So it looks like I have a good summer project on my hands, that me and my little boy can get stuck into that'll hopefully make him catch the bug. He's already got his eye on an Oset, much to the disapproval of the missus! Anyway, hopefully you guys can help me out with some tips when I start stripping the bike down and getting my hands dirty. Cheers, Andy.

Hello all I have just joined I have just acquired an Ariel 350 single 1939-45 prefix number RBH which I believe was a Royal Air Force dispatch - Engine crank gearbox needs attention but unfortunately frame and rest has rusted beyond any amount of TLC - I am presently considering a trials rebuild and looking at using the 350 crank with a 500 barrel - I came across a post on here by a guy called Magnon back in 2009 which read -(see below) - So what interests me is - does anyone know who he was referring to regarding the ally barrel maker he knew off that will suit the std conrod (85mm stroke) and Yamaha xt350 piston (86mm). THANKS Davedent Hi Bob, h…

Have been slowly rebuilding a Bultaco Sherpa 350. It’s almost at a stage where it can be ridden. So looking for somewhere near Dorchester I can take it for some practice (nothing to testing) not ridden for over 30 years. It’s mechanically sorted so if I survive, I plan to sort paintwork out over the winter. Any suggestions of where to practice would be helpful, have transport so can travel.

Hi, new member from near Winchester, UK. Rode Trials for 5 years from age 11 then went onto Grasstrack, Speedway and MotoX. Now aged 60 and been racing flat track for a few years and loving it. Just considering getting an Electric Motion (a cheap one!) so I can get more bike time locally and maybe even the odd trial.

Hello everyone, I'm a complete novice when it comes to trials. Live is Sligo, Northwest of Ireland. Day job is a motorcycle instructor when there's enough work. Please see www.mrtg.ie ( not touting for business, just some further info.) Found the site via web search about sticking clutch on my Sherco 290 just arrived yesterday. I will try the suggestions. Well again hello and I'm sure I will meet some of you in the future after I've fallen off a few times. Bye for now.

At the grand old age of 58, I must be mad to try my hand at trials riding again ? I made the fatal mistake of going to a Witley MCC trial back in March (ended up observing) and met up with lots of old riding friends from the 70's; many were still competing and enjoying the camaraderie of the trials world. I found myself looking at twinshock M/C's and of cause "the inevitable" has happened with the purchase of a MH 349. The bike needs some TLC but I am enjoying the challenge; tinkering in the garage at night, fighting with the rear tyre etc only to realise how out of touch I am. Ian.
