Introduce Yourself

Created by request - a place for new users to say hello before diving into the melee!

  1. Started by crowley,

Well, I was going to start 'Please allow me to introduce myself', but I see another Stones fan has already done that I did some trials about 30 yrs ago, and that led onto all kinds of siliness, ranging from Pre '65 scrambling with a collection of old sheds; TriBsa's, JAP Specials, Rickmans etc, and currently to racing and regular trackdays on VTR's, Buells and Ducs. One Sunday, a few months ago, it was too wet to go and annoy N.Wales Police on my bike, so off I went see a local trial held by the Aquaduct Club. It was like I'd bought a Time Machine off EBay, the same old crowd were still at it..........and I was greeted with all kinds of abuse for not having a bike wit…

I have just gotten back into trials. Working on my old ApriliaTXR312 air cooled single shock. Hope to have it running soon and wanting to compete locally. I use to ride the Am. class in the '90's. In the process of installing an OKO carb. Cheers, Marion

A couple of months ago I inadvertently came across a couple of guys practising for an upcoming local trials competition, met a guy from my hometown, he let me ride his Beta, I was hooked, have since searched for a late model trails bike, no luck, but did find a new 2016 Montesa 4RT260, snatched it up before it was bought by a "competitor", more bike than I need, but it was available. Have since been practicing in back yard, very challenging, pros make it look easy to ride very slowly/stopped and stay balanced. Next step is to hookup with local riders. I am sure I will find this forum helpful as I have found for other bikes I own. Have also determined that a Rekluse clu…

Good morning everyone from Rossendale Lancashire. Decided to sign up to the site rather than just a guest browser, well I will get straight to the point. I would like to have my 1983 coat 349 (y reg) be treated to a full engine overhaul, no major dramas at the moment but I think the mains are just starting to become a touch noisy. Where can I purchase these along with the related seals, gaskets and other bearings etc preferably all from one supplier. Part two now! I would like to invest in a RTL 250 twin disc model, but don't have a great deal of knowledge of them .There's a couple on that other site for £5500 ish ,is that a fair reflection? Any replies much appreciated …

Hi, I'm Rebekah and my friend Luke (Sacramento PITS member) recommended this site. I've been street riding for 12 years and dirt biking for about four. I race (novice) both desert and woods. At 5'4 my greatest limitation is my height, but in general I do pretty well. So how did I end up here? My bf and I recently borrowed a friends Beta Evo - probably a 2011 or 2012. We've done some drills on it but I wasn't super impressed. We went to a group camp/ride weekend a week ago and Luke brought his 2021 Scorpa 300 (Factory I think). Wow - the difference felt night and day in terms of clutch ease and nimbleness. We practiced 6' circle turns, which I was able to manage …

Hi Guys I used to do a lot of trials when I was a kid before I switched to MX and did the British Champs for years , anyways decades later I find myself living in San Diego , just turned 40 and with a hankering to get back on a trials bike. Bearing in mind the last time I rode a trials bike was 1984 !! I'd appreciate some advice on what a good bike to get would be. I like the look of the Montesa 4RT ( thats what I used to ride - Montesas ) but getting them here seems a bit of a problem. The Scorpa uses a modified YZF250 motor - is it really a good engine for trials ? 2 or 4 stroke ? Any and all help / advice you guys can give would be great. Cheers !!

Hello Just bought my first trials bike today at the age of 45,the reason being it was a giveaway at the price i paid having hardly being used from new ,what is it you may ask?well it is a Montesa and after a bit of research on the net i think it is a 200 1982 model although the engine does look a tad on the large side for a 200. I had it running today and it appears to be in first class order so hopefully i may be able to join a local club and give it a go. Hopefully later on i will be able to post a few pics of it in the relevant section. Well off to trawl through all the information available on here now Tata for now Mark

Hi to all, I am Mustafa from Istanbul Turkey. Literally there is no trials riding here so I had to look abroad. I've been riding different types of bikes for ten years. Last bike was a motocross (before stolen) but I actually didn't like the idea of speeding in dirt or forest. While motocrossing, I was more into observing the terrain or going slow through stuff. So after the theft of my bike I asked myself why not a trials bike this time. I never had the chance to try one, and there are only two bikes on the sales list (yes entire country) which are not even in my city. So in these circumstances I have three choices; 1-gas gas txt pro250 (cylinder head changed to 300 with…

Hi Guys, totally new to the sport. I have a RE cafe racer and a RE Himalayan, but I fancy something a little different that looks to be great fun. I’ve booked an all day trials experience in a few weeks and can’t wait. If all goes well I’ll be looking for a bike. I’ve seen the tow bar attachments for transporting the bikes. Are these adequate for transportation? It seems like a lot of weight on the tow bar... ? If so, can anyone recommend a quality brand? Thanks Guys.

Hi, my names Matt. Went to my first meeting yestersay - with the Blackmore Vale TC. I was well impressed! Seemed like a very nice bunch of people - and the sport in general looks great fun! I have ridden trail/supermoto bikes for a number of years, and my 5 year old son is beginning to get into bikes - and I would like to get into a sport that we can both enjoy together. So I'm thinking that trial riding might be the way forward... Cheers - Matt.
