I have recently bought my 12 year old son a gas gas 125 txt pro 2004; its a great bike and just been to a trial at Barton Upon Humber which was excellent and very friendly; We are keen to progress; must admit I would love a bike top go round as running round in wellies is "not great or cool!" We have a small problem from last week with the bike; the oil has gone pink which suggets water; I will post on the forums for advice I intend to buy chain and sprockets as they are worn; the Splat Shop at Chesterfield looks excellent.( On line) Thats it really; got the gear and no idea is where we are at!!!!!!!! Hi, Richard here. Long time motorcycle rider and part time road racer. Current bikes are Yamaha RZ350, TZ250 and Aprilia RSV-R. Learned to ride on dirt-bikes way back when, but haven't owned one in years. I'm interested in getting a trials bike, but don't really know where to start. I'm familiar with BETA, Gas Gas, Sherco, etc. What I'd like to know is which are the most reliable, what brand, model and years have best OE and aftermarket parts availability. I'd like to get a used bike in the $2-$3k range. What do you recommend, and where do you recommend I search? Thanks, Richard

Hi everyone, Im completely new to motorbike trials. Not completely new to bikes, used to own a cbr 600 but decided road riding wasnt for me. Im now looking for my first bike and would like to know your thoughts. ( i know this has been covered a million times). Got around 2k to play with, from what i've read so far a 250 is the way to go. Iv seen a 14 gasgas for sale around my price range. Iv also seen a mint beta evo 290, my question is would a 290 be too much for me. I 5'11 and 15 n half stone..what do you guys think?? I know the best thing to do is try and ride each one to see for myself but none of my mates ride them and not sure where i could try them out.…

Hi im Mick from west Yorkshire, Ive just got myself a TY175 after not having one for about 10-11 years and ive picked up a TY50 single seat for my 9 year old boy to start out on. Never thought I would get back on a trials as im parlysed bellow the knee both legs and have a cobalt chrome hip. But with the miracle of carbon fibre wrapped around my lower legs and a good pair of boots im going to give it another go because I cant really play football with the boy so ive got to do something to get him outside with me, kids today.

HI , i have just joined the trialscentral forum , my name is Phill and i live in Powys Mid wales , Trials , i fairly new to me although i have observed a few , most of my riding has been competing in ENDURO , but i have always fancied a go at trials ,CLASSIC trials , is my thing and i am at the moment attempting to build a Trials BANTAM based on a d7 ,Some useful tips i have uncovered through the forum , i am sure that i will post many questions relating to my project and i hope someone will feel able to help , i also hope at some point to meet some of you until then cheers phill jones

Hello all first time post i have a montesa 348 had nearly a year had all sorts of problems, getting it sorted slowly but one thing i"m having trouble with is the clutch side crank seal done it twice and it"s still leaking sucking clutch case oil has measured the crankshaft this time and it"s worn down to 24.7mm has anybody used a SKF speedi seal on a crankshaft. thanks in advance Pete.

Broke my back pretty badly, sold my GasGas thinking I’d never ride again…well guess what!? I’m back (pun intended). i sucked on my GasGas and I’ll prolly suck worse on my new to me (but exceptionally clean, still has the original tires) ‘13 250 Evo Factory with my new back issues….. I want to focus on my balance and control precision and hopefully get a little stronger in the process. 53 years young….owned a **** ton (almost 75) of different bikes over 43 years of riding and racing, but never good enough to be top at anything. Hi Everyone, As the title states i am new to the site and after some info regarding getting started, local clubs / Contacts / places to ride etc etc. im currently looking at purchasing a Cota 247 and wondered if anyone has any info on them etc also. Hi all, new member to the forum. Been riding bikes for 30 plus years but only just getting into trials! Just bought myself a Sherco 200, helmet, boots gloves etc, and looking forward to doing my first 'beginners' trial at the end of March. Hi All. I purchased a 2006 TXT Pro 300 5 years ago but never really used it much as I don't know any other trials riders locally. Plus I was into track racing so hadn't the time really. Now I'm rebuilding the bike as it hasn't had much TLC from me or its previous owner by the looks of it. When it's all done I hope to put more effort into learning to ride properly!

Hello All, Some may know me from KTMtalk and Thumpertalk. After "wanting one" for years and attending 4 different Endurocross races and drooling over the trials bikes... Looks like it's gonna happen. After about a 30 year hiatus, I am getting back into Trials. Things sure have changed since I used to compete back in the early 80's. I am afraid I may be a bit long in the tooth for to learn the new style of riding. However, I hope to compete in vintage events in the Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee area. At the moment I am rebuilding a basket case Kawasaki KT 250 which was given to me. Years ago I started on Yamaha TY's then switched to Bultaco Sherpa-T's. I had the opportunity to do a bit of riding in Ireland and Cornwall year's past. Looking forward to participating in the forum.
