Hey All. I'm the newest (New Guy) here and just wanted to say Hi. Looking forward to meeting everyone. My first Trials bike was a 1974 TY 250 and I've been thinking I'd like to find one to rebuild as a retirement project. Well I just recently retired and now have time to referb one. A buddy of mine called me a couple days ago and said he found one. Someone at his church had one taking up room in the garage and was willing to sell it. Long story short, I'm now the owner of it and will be embarking on the rebuild project. It runs great but it's going to need new seals, rear shocks right away. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to where I can find parts??…

Hello all, Just heard about this Forum...........looks like an interesting site. Have only been into trials for the last years or so, join a local Club - "Montrose & District" great bunch of lads especially "Geordie", have competed in a few Local and Classic Club events, not getting on that well to be honest but I'll just have to keep plugging away and hopefully get better....I have 2 Bikes now, a Sherco 2.9 & a Twin Shock TY-250 that I'm currently restoring. Ventured up to the 2-day Pre-65 in may, had the best time watching this event, maybe one day..... Regards, Mark..

Great forum, I've gleaned plenty of info from the posts, thanks. Newish to trial after years of road bikes and road racing, discovered trials bikes a couple of year ago now and absolutely love riding my 290. My road bike is under covers losing money steadily, whereas my trials bike is in a constant cycle of ride, wash, oil, ride, wash, oil, ride, wash, oil. Even though I ride A fair bit, I am yet to muster up the courage to enter a trial, I will though Anyway, Hello!

I started riding trials in the '70s in Michigan and Canada, had a ty250. I could not shake the trials bug and purchased a '99 Scorpa Easy 3 years ago. Not alot of information for working on this bike, the Rotax motor is great. I am looking for some riding pals around Ventura California. I have two 10 year old's, riding for 3 years on Honda '50s, this has me back on a Yamaha ttr 225 as a trail bike; I still love trials first. Bob

Howdy, I'm from Massachusetts in the USA and I'm new to trials. I'm planning on getting involved in some competition at some point and i'd like to get good at this stuff and riding in general. That's one of the reasons I chose to buy a trials bike. It's a '96 Beta Techno. I'm looking forward to learning some things on this forum. I'm a member of a few other motorcycle forums and i've learned a great amount of information about working on bikes of all kinds. I hope to have the same experience here. Other bikes I'm into: I am rebuilding a 1977 Yamaha RD 400 and hot-rodding it like silly, and I also own a 1970 Triumph T100C. This appears to be a great resource. I'm…

Bought a 198a (250 about 1979/80) need to know if anyone can help with details of colour and I need an electronic user manual can anyone help! Anyway it runs has a red tank but blue side panels and blue frame. Looking at pictures it should have a black engine but this one is silver and black top end? Is there any trails clubs in the South Yorkshire area. Thanks and all the best.

Greetings from the frozen North. Have looked at this site many times and never took the time to register, daft really as there's a lot of very interesting forums to take part in. Currently falling off a 280 pro and would like to hear from everyone but if I can find someone local to annoy that would be better ! I'm stuck in the middle of Bon Accord and Inverness clubs and have yet to decide which direction to head. Any suggestions ? I have about an acre of field with a few 'obstacles' and (easy) sections in it but it's obviously better to broaden ones horizons if anyone local'ish' has some land to practice on. Visitors to my 'ranch' are always welcome if they fancy a d…

Just to say hello all. Back to trials after a loooong lay off, last competed about 1976 always rode Bultaco's but decided to go eyetie with a Beta in March - should have done it years ago, forgotten how much fun it was & how friendly the folks are. Any other old gits on here may have ridden with me years ago - my dad used to own "Netherthorpe Wood" near Worksop where the now defunct (as far as trials are concerned) Worksop & Retford clubs held trials. Hope to see some old faces at the trials - seen some already - strangely most seem to have become "follicularly challenged" like me - and we didn't wear helmets back then so can'y blame that. Ade

Hi All, Just moved to Maidenhead, well about a year ago anyway. Riding a road bike up and down to work everyday but thinking of starting something new in the way of bikes. Thinking about trials and green laning. Green laning seem to be knocked down further and further especially in this part of the country. So Trials could be it. Does anyone of you have some info on clubs around this area and also what bike should I be looking at. Now don't start yelling the latest and greates makes at me I am pretty low budget and even think I should start with some LDT's. My budget is around a thou and I am not shy of doing some work on a bike. Let me know. cheers Dennis

My name is Dave and I live in Portland, Oregon. I have a couple Bultacos, one that I ride regularly in AHRMA and other Vintage Trials here in the Pacific Northwest. We also have a very active modern trails club here (COTA), and while they welcome vintage bikes, I'm not good enough to take the old iron on their Novice line. Maybe one day when I get better... Ok, off to the Twinshock area.
