Introduce Yourself

Hi everyone, I am new to the sport, in fact so new I don't have a bike yet ! spent many years competing in mx & road race but now fancy a bash at trials, I have been looking at the Beta Rev3 250 & the Gas Gas 250, any advice would be great as I don't want to buy something that is not suitable. cheers Paul.

Specifically ancaster.. I ride with the south west ontario vintage trials group.. 1977 ty250 and a 1999 'bultaco' sherco 2.5.. Great forum lots of good info and knowledge here. Cheers

Figure I had better introduce myself. My name is Kevin, and live in Fife, Scotland. I'm in my 40's and decided to start trialling with a few of my workmates. Dug in and bought me a Beta 290 2010 EVO, and all the new kit. ( I'm like action man - an outfit for every eventuality) Anyhow did my first trial on Sunday and got a few cleans on the "b" route. So well chuffed. Anyone with helpfull hints / tips / places to ride local etc much appreciated. Kev

Hi All Last rode trials 25+ years ago and have since kept eye in with a bit of trail riding. However am losing interest in trail riding as lanes disappearing fast and so fancied a return to trials. Have purchased a TY with a view to going twinshock and this forum has come up on a few Googlings so thought I'd sign up.

Hi everyone I recently brought a beta evo 250 but unfortunately haven’t had much seat time. I’ve joined up to Nash but don’t know anyone in the area that rides so kinda limited to when I can drag the missis along so obviously not that fun. Looking for a couple buddies that I can tag along with and hopefully learn a bit from. I’m lucky enough to finish work early most days and I’m only 20 mins away so if anyone is popping down let me know would be great to get down there and ride 👍

Hello, just thought I'd introduce myself. Been into off road bikes fo a bit now and got the trials bug whilst doing up a Pre-65 Triumph 350 unit twin as a bit of a project for my Dad. Looking for a modern trials iron now and hoping to get to know a few clubs. Staffs Moorlands and Derbyshire which is my area and Shropshire/Staffs border for my Dad. Went to have a look at the Shropshire TC at Hinstock (I think) last Sunday, seems a really friendly bunch. The smell of 2 stroke in the morning. Lovely!

I've got my first trials bike, and I'm looking forward to falling off it. My last bike was a Honda Africa Twin, which weighed well over three times as much as the Beta! There seem to be a few trials clubs near me Worthing, Bognor, Horsham, Reigate so should manage to get to a few events. I feel that I really need a nice flat field to start with though

Hi, I’m in Canada now and not much of a trials scene where I am. Looking to get a new bike as a retirement gift to myself. Haven’t ridden any sort of bike since I took my bike test in 2000 and haven’t ridden a dirt bike since 83 (battered ty 175). What I mean by riding a dirt bike loosely translates to wobbling around a quarry in Bradford avoiding anything more than a mole hill. anyway I am going to treat myself and was wondering if I could get some input on what would be a good first bike. Hi all looking to purchase my first bike, have experience of motor cycling on road and some basic off road, looking at a sherco 300 factory (yes i know dont need 300) but its local and looks in good order. Question the bike is 2014, its had a new piston and some other stuff done. should i be worried its had this done?? its does look a very tidy bike (in the pics) advice please cheers
