Hello folks , I've never set foot on a trials bike, ive road motorcycles since i was a kid and road with a few road race clubs for the last five year but never a trials bike and ive been told that its alot different to what im used to so I'm on the lookout for as much advice as I can get. I live in the Leeds area and would like to know where would be the best place to go and ride trials, what gear would you recommend I need and what bikes should be on my wish list. Two bikes keep cropping up in recommendations and that's the Shirco 290 and the Beta Rev3 250. Your opinions are much appreciated many thanks, Mick.

Hi all just want to say its great to be back on a trials bike again after years out. Ive bought an old ty250 mono as I feel easy with the technology and I always loved the sound of them. Great to be able to get the bike out and tinker. Ive used it a few times in the last few months and really enjoyed the thrill. Its a shame to put it away after!

Hello people, Im returning to trials bikes after a couple of years off, after breaking my leg. In the past i have had a Bultaco sherpa, Fantic 240? perhaps! and then a Sherco 2.5 which i sold when i did my leg. I have just bought a Ty250 pinky, It weighs a ton. I need some advice on a rear tyre, its got a shagged X11 on it at the minute and would like to know what you people recommend i put on it? The Ty is just for fun use and i would prefer not to spend a fortune... Cheers, Dave.

I know this may seem like a stupid question but, which way do the shocks properly go (mount) on a 1974 TY80A? To simplify my question, there is a "cutaway" or recessed section on one end of each shock. This "cutaway" could go on the top, or the bottom AND/or facing in (toward wheel) or out. Four possible scenerios here. Does anyone know what the proper set-up is? Thanks, Matthew

Hey all, I'm 17 and own a 1994 GasGas trial, started riding motorcycles about 5 years ago and started practicing trials about a year ago. my brother used to be one of the best from the locals until the club closed down as there was no interest in trials here in malta. I am still a beginner trying to learn the hard way beacuse my brother doesn't have time to ride or teach anymore so its up to me to learn on my own. the toughts are that in a year time I will buy a more decent / modern trial bike which I'm not sure which one.Thats all I can say about me. Thanks for welcoming me here

Hi All, I am currently greenlaning a 250 4t enduro bike and am looking to do try something a little more challenging ( don't want to ride enduro's as enjoy the low speed stuff more) so am thinking of trying some trials riding. Ideally I would like to find a bike that could be used for both disciplines but this may be a big ask! I am quite tall 6' 1" and would like a nice light bike. Any ideas or thoughts. I have seen the Scorpa T ride / Sherco X ride, these look great, any thoughts on them or even the Ossa Explorer? Many thanks Kev

Just decided to buy a bike and try my hand at something I've always loved the look of. Didn't realise how hard it actually is but after a couple of rides am loving trying. Cancer took my mum last year so kicked me up the a*** to give it ago. So just a quick hello to everyone on here.

A little introduction.... Back in the 70s I rode timed enduro's and observed trials in the Midwest. I was good enough to have a Hodaka dealership sponsor. I did mostly riding very little wrenching, should have paid attention to the wrenching part. Got married moved to central AZ, off a bike for 32 years. Got the urge three years ago and purchased a XR400, great bike for my riding style. Mostly desert exploring in my backyard, 100 to 200 miles a day often alone. A few weeks ago I had an accident (non bike) and really messed up my shoulder and bicep tendons. Decided that I no longer bounce well and should perhaps not venture so far from assistance. So the Trials bug bit o…

Good Morning All, and Happy New Year! I recently moved over to trials from road riding, and already realise I have a hell of a lot to learn! Purchased a Gas Gas 280 last week, and can't wait to get out on it and get better. If anyone from the Shrewsbury area knows of local places to go, or fancies a newbie tagging along to learn the ropes, please let me know! Thanks Kiel

Hi All , Been racing Enduro & trail riding last 7 years & always wanted to give trials a shot to help with the Enduro riding & fitness . Looked around for a while for primarily a beta 250 after having rode a couple of older models & really liking it . I actually ended up buying a well sorted very clean sherco 250 2t road reg'd 2012 for just over 2k . Unbelievable how much compression the thing has got & how easy it will get up & over most things it comes up against . Would ideally love to have a go at some easy trials comps to see what it's all about , just practicing on private land at the moment & totally hooked

Hi, Larry here. I live in Wyoming and have ridden off-road most all of my life. Just bought an old KT250 that I'm looking to restore/ride. Little or no organized trials here (very little organized anything here...), but I'm a fan. Hoping to get some education on this forum, both on the riding and restoring.

Hi I am new to this forum and I would like to give a brief introduction. My name is Richard and I am from Sheffield, South Yorkshire, over the years I have had many bikes and restored quite a few mainly classic 2 strokes. Any how i have just acquired my first trial bike, and I am trying to identify the correct model and year of the bike. I think its a Montesa Cota 200 but I am not sure. The Frame number is 29 M02504, and the engine number is 28H00420, does this seem correct. many thanks in advance for any info you can give me. Regards Richard.
