  1. Hello everyone, after developing an interest in these bikes and searching for quite a while I recently picked up a 2000 BETA REV3 250. After receiving some great advice from the folks at the trials forum on TT (Dan Williams included) I spent yesterday at the RITC trials school for beginners, and I had an amazing time, and learned a LOT! I look forward to contributing to this forum, and learning as much as I can about my bike, and riding it. Big thanks to Dan (Pointed me to RITC & started my bike for me when I was having trouble!), Bill (RITC), Gary (My Instructor), and Scott from MOTO CONNECTION VT. for the great welcome, and loads of advice, as well as a great eve…

Hi, I thought that I had better say 'hi' before diving into the forum with questions. I have just rescued a Villiers 'Sprite' from an chap that lives locally to me. It has been in his shed since 1974, mainly in bits including the engine and gearbox, but hey, I like a challenge! I think it was one of those things that he was going to get around to, but realised that he never would. It has come with boxes of spares and bits, all I've got to do is work out how it goes back together..............! I have used 'Google' to try and gather information and this was how I located the forum. From the pictures on the internet, it looks like a 'Monza'. This afternoon, whilst clean…

Hi, my next door neighbour has recently bought a gas gas 125 and i have been to a couple of local trials with her. I have had road bikes all my life but I thought i would have a bit of offroad fun. so to see if i would be competent enough I have just bought a cheapie montesa cota 314r? I think. The guy I bought it off fired it up after two prods, but since I got it home, so far it refuses to start or me!! Oh well head scratching time!

Hi all.....Not only am I new to the forum, I'm new to trials too. I've been riding for a good few years and have always had sportsbikes, but I think my tastes are changing and I really fancy having a go at a more technical discipline, although I still have my trackbike for high speed rushes. I'm going through the process of trying to find the best bike within my budget (looking at Sherco 2.5 on advice from a mate) Based right on the south coast in Portsmouth Anyway........Hi

Hiya, I'm 50 years old. I started on road bikes 5 years ago with a view to scrambling (from my teens). Now, I've decided to have a go at trials (something I aspired to do in my teens, but alas - finances, then family, kids, etc, etc waylaid that). I had a tow-bar fitted, fitted a carrier, bought an OSSA TR280i 2011. Now what? Yep - typical me - in with both feet (ignoring my favorite saying: "Never test the depth of a stream with both feet!"). Now, I'm struggling to find a legit / legal venue to just practice! Not a venue managed by a club - once a year, but regular, whenever I want (if it costs - it costs). Any help here - much appreciated. Distance does matter obv…

Back after a 5 year break. Had to sell my monty to fund a new van after my old one died in the snow. Got a bit sidetracked racing kite buggies down the beach for a.few years. Moved back to the UK after 8 long years on Jersey and finally bought another trials bike. Well. Actually bought a push trials bike to get fit and ready then got impatient and picked my sherco up last week. Waiting on helmet boots and club membership then I'm good to roll. Just need to get my old account opened up again now. The system won't send me a password reset. Possibly due to a Hotmail address? Can a mod help?

Hi everyone, I've been riding motorcycles most my life dating back as far as the '73 DT 360 Yamaha. Until about 3 years ago, all I rode was my XR600R for grins and the annual trek to Rampart Range in Colorado's Pike National. I'm converting the XR over to a street legal dual sport but have been rather distracted by my new habit - trials riding! I am a member of the Ark Valley Trials Association and have ridden the Novice class when I could the past 3 years. I bought a '99 Gas Gas TXT 321 from my wife's uncle when he upgraded to a 300 Pro and never looked back. This past weekend, I drove to McKinney, Texas and bought a very low hours (5 rides total) 2000 Beta Rev 3…

Hi Just thought I'd introduce myself. I went to my first trial on Sunday just to see what it was all about. I knew nothing about the sport other than what I had seen on TV. I got talking to a few people who were only to happy to pass on info and explain the rules to me, what a great bunch of people. I'm 42 and was looking for a new hobby so I've now persuaded my wife to make some room in the garage and i'm hunting for a bike. I was wondering if there are any makes of bike that I should steer clear of and also what engine size should I go for? Any advice on how to get started would be apreciated. Thanks Dave

Hi Chaps. My name is Paul, I live in Sussex. I've been following the sport on and off for many years (Rathmell vs Lampkin at school) and now find myself in a position to participate. I will be entering my first trial next w/e. A friend from work has kindly offered me the loan of a bike for a begginers comp. at Golding barn, can't wait! I'll be looking for my own bike and will put a post in the general section regarding machine choice. Paul.

Hi all. Stumbled across my first Trials event on Sat, the Northern Expert Trials. Bit of a motorsport fan but had never seen Trials before. Now that i have, i wouldn't mind seeing some more of it. I love taking photos so will be looking to try and catch some more trials events and looking for tips in the photography section. Cheers Andy

Hello there boys and girls. I'm Jon. I am 29 years old and I live in Wakefield in West Yorkshire. I currently ride on the road and have been doing so for about 4 years now. Currently I own a 53 plate Honda Blackbird and two Kawasaki ZXR750-L bikes. Due to some financial commitments I have to fulfil (bloody taxman), and also due to wanting a new challange and to learn some new skills, I want to sell my two ZXR's and then buy myself a trials bike and give it a bash. Being honest I couldnt decide what sort of off-road riding I would like to try, but I think trials is the one for me for now. It seems to be the safest of the different off-road disciplines, probably the cheap…

Hello from the Isle of Man!! Im gonna jump straight to my point... I have a 2010 Gas Gas pro300 and yesterday whilst riding i noticed my front forks felt different. When i say differen, its when i pull the front end up and there was no real dampening and the forks knock just before the wheels comes off the dirt. I also noticed they dont push down as far as before. Any help or advice would be great. Chris
