Hi all. Geoff is the name and Beta Rev3 250 (circa 2002) is the bike.. Been into bikes since I was 16 and currently ride a VTR1000 on the road and will soon ride the Beta off road. My life long friend thought it would be a good idea now we have turned 40 to get trials bikes and an ex-ambulance to ferry them around! I think we need the paramedics as well. The wife's a nurse but I get poor bedside manners if I ever have need of her skills.. The Beta was a shed when I got it (my mate bought it unseen as a surprise.. yay cheers for the work I have to now do) and is now In much better fettle. swing arm bearings had disintegrated, both brake calipers and master cylinders …

I’ve been on dirt and street bikes for over 40 years and on Tuesday I bought my first trials bike. A 2006 Gas Gas 280 txt pro. On Friday I was off work so I brought home a bobcat and commenced to make part of the back yard a riding area. It was raining so when I was done I decided to try to fix a leaky rear tire. I knew I was in trouble when I got the tire off and the rim tape was siliconed on. Under that was some crusty gunk. I cleaned it all up and proceeded to checking the spokes. Out of the first 9 I checked 4 broke so I ordered a new set and rim tape. Now I have to wait until Wednesday or Thursday to play on all my work.

My name is Romain, I live in France, in the area of Grenoble in the Alps. I am 38 and I have been practicing trial motorbike for 19 years, ie half of my life. I started with a 125 Yamaha TY, then I get a SWM 320 TL, a Scorpa easy, a GasGas 280 TXT pro, a GasGas 200 TXT, a Montesa 309 and I will have very soon a Beta Rev3 250. I mainly use my bikes for freeride and I am passionnate by old mechanics, reason why I come here to read topics dealing with motorbike restaurations.

After 20 years without a bike (apart from my original from new 67 honda monkey) I am now the owner of a used 2005 Cota 4RT. Past history was an Ossa, Honda TLR 200, Bultaco 248 Sherpa T. Anyone else around West Somerset? Turns out my nearest dealer is BVM Stroud, who are wonderful but nearly 2 hours away! I will continue to use them for all major things. Any specialist shops any closer, eg for new Trials Tyres etc?

Good afternoon (or evening/morning, delete as appropriate when you read this) from a new old owner of an old ('98 Beta) trials bike. Looking forward to getting started, just sorting out the kit, club membership and a Domino slow throttle so stop the bike spitting me off the back (again). Can just about manage a wobbly track stand on the bike so a long way to go. Anyway, Hello!

Hi to all, from a damp and blustery Bratford (spelling intentional). Bikes are in my blood, although I've had an on/off relationship with them for years (sometimes literally). Mainly road bikes up to the last year or so. Name's Graeme, born n raised in Bradford just like the Scott. Bought a TY80 for my 2 year old grandson about 5 years ago. It was at the right money and I thought he'd grow into it. Virtually his first word was 'bike'! Got him started on it on his own on his 7th birthday in July. He's getting on fine and worryingly or not, shows no fear. I bought a TY250 mono '96 from a friend last year and spent a while restoring it to a pretty smart, but rideabl…

  16. HI, recently re-entered the trials motorcycle game. Used to use a TY 250 with moderate success in the 70's, and admired the 350 Bultaco. Last year, I |bought one for rebuild: a 325 Model 191. It looks fair but has had a hard life, so the fun starts....

Bought a 2003 Sherco 250cc the bike ran great the first couple of learning sessions but now it starts no bother when on full choke but when choke is put off the engine dies I have tried keeping it revving for a while but it still dies when you let the throttle off. orry I don't know muck about the mechanics of a bike but am keen to learn and your help would be much appreciated in solving this problem guys.

Hi, I’m totally new to trials riding but wanting to do something and get a hobby, I am 45 been round motorbikes all my life, I am worried about starting out at my age with no experience and not knowing anyone, my question is it ok to be a total novice and zero experience not wanting to embarrass myself, can you go practicing and just do easy stuff out of the way and not look silly until I get some confidence?

Hi all. New beta techno 250 owner here from west Scotland. Bought as a non runner (no spark). Like pretty much all techno's I've seen mentioned on forums the wiring is a rat's nest and seems to be an issue related to the kill switch. Currently having so much fun with the original wiring diagram 🙄 Wish me luck
