Hello, This is the only motorcycle trials site ive found !! loads of silly "bike trials" Anyway,..Reading the other post, i too am a yorkshire man. My bike is at my West yorkshire in the Pontefract/ barnsley area, but i have just moved to the edge of sheffield. Im building up my bike as its in the box !! my old man stripped it and i want to play on it now. Havnt really had the cash to always have a bike, so ive ended up having a 1979 sherpa t and a Montesa-honda 349, so im gonna bug you all alittle for riding and tech info....i hope,..and obviously share in the community. ....ok ive gone on alittle now... ...soz Mat

Hi all, just picked up a 2002 Montesa, to learn a bit about Trialing. Just going round the garden at present, ruining the grass!! Hey Ho. Waiting to get a manual so if anyone can help with a couple of queries... 1. I have assumed 1:80 with some castrol TTS is about right and 2. My clutch is not disengaging the engine cleanly...with engine running it CLUNKS into first and starts moving or stalls if you brake, even with the clutch in! Difficult to then find neutral of course... hopefully its a matter of adjustment rather than replacement....but what needs adjusting... and in or out!!! plenty of fluid in the resovoir. Any help appreciated Mark

Hello everyone. I hope all your Christmas plans are going well and you have informed the Fella in Red what Trials goodies you would like! He has already brought mine, an ageing Yamaha TY175. I have been looking for one for ages and this one came along at the right price so I am pleased. Its been a while since i rode in a Trial, 1978 to be exact. Even then it was not by choice more as part of another event. I enjoyed it though even if i was not on a Trials Bike but an early Enduro. A Montesa King Scorpian, fore runner, sort of, of the Montesa H6. That dates me doesnt it! A couple of years later I purchased a Montesa Cota 172 which turned out to be great when it…

Morning all, I've been reading various posts on here for a while now. I just got myself a pretty tired looking 2001 Sherco 290 as an introduction to trials and two stroke mechanics, and it would appear form threads I only just found that this is probably not the smarted bike to learn on. Still, that which doesn't kill us can only make us bruised and frustrated, right? As a shortcut to not looking like a tool when I show up to my first meet, are there any spectacular "Hey guys, I'm an idiot" moves which I can avoid? Is there trials etiquette like the 'drop in' rule in surfing? Looking forward to some banter and maybe burning some oil with you guys. Owen

Hello, I am a keen photographer and while looking to find out where trials events were in the County Durham area came across your site. Am looking to expand my photographic skills, and thought Trials would be a good place to get some action shots. Heading for the big 50 this year, married two boys, that's about as interesting as I get really, unless someone wants to ask me something

I'm new to this site, so if I'm posting in the wrong area...sorry, please advise. My issue is, I'm re-building an old TY-250, 1974, awaiting a new electronic ignition, new throttle cable that replaces the forked one that controlled the oil injector, and a plate to block the old port for the worm gear that drives the oil injector. While I'm waiting, I'm trying to identify the rear shocks that came with the bike. They are definably after market shocks, red in color and have an air stem at the bottom. I have seen these shocks on other vintage bikes. My question is: What is the manufacturer name? Can the shocks be rebuilt? What is the recommended pressure for a 200 lb …

Well I am 27 years young from Ayrshire in Scotland. I currntly race mx and have done for oh 19 years now so bike experience that way is not a problem. I have also practiced pedal trials for around 7 years. I have good natural balance and decent bike skills both pedal and the engine powered kind. Anyway to cut a long story short I was practicing the other day getting ready for racing this weekend at Drumclog then due to lack of entries the race was cancelled. As motocross is such an exspensive sport and the fact that this year I have not gained any speed tells me that maybe I am ready to take a back seat on the mx thing. Thinking of trading in for a new 08 125 to keep for…
