I've just registered, so I thought I'd say hello. I've just joined my son into the Surrey School Boys Club, so he can start riding. Until going along to a Trials for him, I've never been to one and I feel that I've lost many years, of having ago myself. Anyway this year, I'm going to get him going and maybe next year, I'll try it. So advice on first bike please, because I've had a lot of different opinions. He's 7, but small for his age. He's had a few goes on a PW50 and has got on fine. he sat on a GasGas 50 and his feet just touch the ground and he looked even smaller than he is. So: I think I should spend a couple of hundred quid on ebay and get him a PW50, a…

Hi peeps Took my road bikes off the road for winter I was getting itchy feet to get back on again. I decided to sell one of the projects I had going to buy something "off-roady" which meant the crap weather and winter wouldn't stop me getting out. A couple of my mates have got trials bikes and i've always thought it looked like ace fun. Plus there is a club in Aberdeen which seems to put on loads of trials events so I figured trials would be a good shout. Looked for a while to find a bike but i'm a bit stingy and didnt want to spend heaps of money. Then my Gas Gas TXT 250 pro came up for sale for £800. Its a road legal job but all the lights are off. Needed fork…

Just to say hi as im new to trials bike but loving it so far. Have had road bikes but always fancied one since watching kick start as a kid. Found an old Montesa to get started on and going to try the courses at Kidderminster and Shatterford soon. If there is any other places close to Wolverhampton please let me know and any recommendations as to servicing as my local bike shop does not want to do my Montesa. Hope to catch up with some of you soon Fraser

Hello everyone, I have been visiting this site quite a lot since buying a Montesa Honda MH 349 from another forum member last week so I thought that I should do the decent thing and sign up. I live about 15 miles south of York and used to ride trials (not very well) as a child near Middlesbrough (Woodhouse Farm , Great Ayton I think was the venue). Anyway, I have been trail (not trial) riding for about 10 years on board various different machines but latterly on my KTM 530 EXC, and it is obvious to me that retaining vehicle access to green lanes is a losing battle. With that in mind I thought that I would give trials a go. I watched a few modern-type trials and realised…

Hello all, Just a note to say Hi I've been involved with Land Rover trials in the West Country for many years (25+). We share some of our sites with bike trials clubs. I've finally taken the decision to jump over the fence, get a trials bike and have a go! For years I've fancied a TY175 but recently I've been researching Fantic 200s and now I'm torn between the two! I could do with something road registered because we have a lot of opportunities locally. I'm also trying to find a good club local to us (Wiltshire) who would run Twinshock events...... Any info would be appreciated, Thanks.

Hi there. Sooo, I have been road riding for a few years, but now I am keen to get into some trials riding. And could do with a bit advice on getting started I was thinking about getting a 125 to learn on, would that be powerful enough for a tall adult? Also, can anyone recommend somewhere in the North East where I could practise? (I am based near Newcastle but I dont mind travelling to find a good location) And maybe some training might be a good idea... Cheers! Chris

..... Sarah Teach ask me! Hi Folks. I'm known as Timpo, a trail rider living in Cheshire but specialising on riding the Welsh trails. My girlfriend, also a trail rider, was reading a post on one of the other forums and it featured several of our friends riding at an Aquaduct Classics trial recently. Now I must admit, I'm a lucky bloke, as many of my pals have had to earn brownie points to go and by one bike, nevermind two..... but Sarah asking me "why haven't you got a trials bike?" was all I needed to go and buy my 8th bike. So with ST's two, we have ten bikes here now.... I think it's time to move house!:-) OK, so now as of yesterday I own a Gori MT325, and I recko…

Hi Folks, I am lucky enough to have 9 acre wood and river area to mess about in but to be social I don't want to upset the neighbours so am looking for a "quiet" choice of bike. 2stroke or 4? 125 or 250? Any suggestions? I am new to this cracking sport though I have done a bit of off roading centuries ago! and have been on and off road bikes for 30 years or so.Thanks.

Hi all from Sunny California! Enjoyed browsing the site. Turns out I rode Trials for a while in Europe, many many years ago (OK, OK in the 70s... ) Well, the bug has bitten again, in part driven by the great newer bikes and by fond memories of fun in the woods. So, I'm presently looking for a bike and if successful, may just get to enjoy the sport again. Hope to participate and perhaps contribute a bit later on to the site! best regards Eric

  19. GOOD Day -complete rookie here - I am looking for advice, feedback and connections. I touched a 2 stroke for the first time in 30 years and I am hooked. This is my dad's bike, I think he bought it new and raced it and gave it to me in the 90s. My dad passed away last year so I decided to rebuild it. I rebuilt the carb, reused everything and it fired right up. First goal, tires and shocks - get it rideable so a third generation can try it and then I will pull it apart next winter and rebuilt it. Initial questions: - everything is original. Tires are in bad shape, cracked any way to keep them? - Rear Shocks - completely seized - not sure how to s…
