Hello from Boonville Indiana. A buddy and I went to trials school in TN 15 years ago and when we came back I bought a used Montesa Cota315r and he moved to Idaho. The Cota set until now as no one to ride with. Finally decided to get it out to play a little a have run into a problem. The right lower fork was cracked on the clamp. This seems to be a common problem but I have also discovered a hairline crack allowing oil to leak out thru axle clamp area. I have found a welder willing to take this on but he has asked if I can find out the metal composition of the piece. As it’s seems the Paoila 38mm lower is now an unobtainable part help any info is appreciated. If welding…

HI, recently re-entered the trials motorcycle game. Used to use a TY 250 with moderate success in the 70's, and admired the 350 Bultaco. Last year, I |bought one for rebuild: a 325 Model 191. It looks fair but has had a hard life, so the fun starts....

Hello all, I thought I would say hello. I got into riding as a young teenager in the mid '70s. My parents bought me a brand new Honda XR75 and I had a blast with it for four years. What a great way to build your independence. I also had a TL125 I rode as a trail bike at the time and an XL500. In the early 80's I got very heavily (3-5 days a week) into rock climbing for about 10 years. Our riding areas slowly dissappeared as well so I got rid of the bikes. I live near Baltimore, Maryland in the US and stumbled across Mid Atlantic Vintage Trials About five years ago. MAVT holds about 15 events anually. I picked up two Tl125's, one with a 170cc conversion and have been ha…

Hi everybody! When I was 16 years old I was a big fan of Eddy Lejeune, the 3 times world champion from Belgium, and immitated him on my converted moped (Puch Cobra) At 35 I finaly had my first real trial machine. A 3year old Montesa Cota 315R. And now, after 11 years of fun whit the 315R I've purchased a 2008 Montesa Cota 4RT. I hope it's as reliable as the 315R and give's me as much fun. See ya (Forgive me for my poor english ;-)

Hello. I'm yet another trials newbie, and I live near Boston, MA (USA). I've been riding street for many years, and recently started trail riding. Most trails around here are very tight single track woods with lots of rocks and technical sections, so it seemed natural to try my hand at trials. I just purchased a 2000 Montesa cota 315R, and was glad to discover a monty-dedicated sub-forum here. Anyone else here from my neck of the woods?

Hi I'm new at trials and I've gathered some money to buy a trials motorcycle. But I can't find a shop in my country that actually owns them or can be ordered. So, I'm here to ask you if you could be so kind and gather some info about that. I want a 50cc bike with automatic gears, just for the start. I'm from Croatia, and my country is poor when it comes to that kind of culture, so I want 'to start' a new culture in my city, or even a country. Thank for your time and I'm hoping for your response.

Hello everyone! I saw the "introduce yourself" forum here and thought i would say hello Ive been riding mx and enduro since the age of 8 and have always been interested in trials. I started watching some trials videos from the blokes down under in Australia about a year ago (great videos by the way) and really started dreaming. For years i have suffered from horrible technical riding skills in slower technical terrain. I always blamed it on the fact that i have 29 inch legs (I'm short) and can't touch the ground most times on my KTM 300. Someone told me that all the best enduro riders are former trials champions! So here i am! Ready to learn and be humbled by a…

After 43 years of no trials bike, I did it - I bought a new-to-me '23 GasGas 300 TXT. In my earlier days I had a Yamaha TY250 then a couple of Sherpa T's (250 and 350). I was never very good but, heck, there's no better way to clear your head and sharpen your focus than riding a trials bike, right? Now, given my advancing years and the numerous replaced or wobbly joints, I've retired my motocross and enduro kit and taken up ADV riding (Africa Twin). It's great fun, but I really needed a heavier 'dirt fix'. Hence, the Gasser. I live in Southeast Texas outside of Houston, which can make a billiard table seem bumpy, so I'll be building my own sections to refresh my…

Hi. Im Tim and have not long got into trials riding with a local club. My bike is a 1965 Greeves TFS which I have recently put back together after being in boxes for the last 35 years. Its interesting riding the same sections as the modern bikes, though I am riding the beginners routes for the time being!

Greetings, I’m new (like yesterday) to the discipline of trials. I have been riding single track up and down the East Coast and Colorado and Idaho for the last 15 years. Friends introduced me to dual sporting a few years ago and that is a blast also. Now between both bikes I average 100+ hours of seat time a year. My wife had a 2 bike rule (I have a 2012 KTM 300 XCW for single track and an 07 KTM 400 XCW for dual sports) until my 50th B-day last month. My present was she broke the rule and ok’d the purchase of a trials bike. I found the newest looking 03 Gas Gas 300 on Craig’s List and now it’s sitting in my shop. Rode it yesterday for the first time and I have a l…

Hi All, I'm in a little place on the SE tip of the Australian mainland, called Mirboo North. 2 mins from the forest, with a big hill in the backyard. Been riding since 7, growing up on a NZ Sheep Farm. I'm a trials virgin, but always wanted to have a go at it, after watching the next door neighbor ride over a 44 gallon drum on a TL125. We used them for mustering. Past bikes i've had, have been an Yamaha Mx80, XL100, XR200, RD250LC, GPZ900R. Currently i'm riding a 06 DRZS set up for Dual Sporting and the latest is a, Beta Rev3, the the best thing i've ever ridden. I think it was the quickest I have ever fallen in love with a bike. I reckon I was fishing for my depo…
