Good afternoon all. I used to compete in schoolboy trials in the late 70's and early 80's, I was that good, my Dad always said I was the strongest rider in the trial, I was dead chuffed until I realised that he meant I supported all the riders above me in the results list! I was pants at it, but loved it all the same. I rode with Andy Cross, Tony Sedgwick and Guy Winder, we were all members of Westmorland MCC. I used to mate about and go to school with Lance and Julian Ingham, James Cotton and Sean Green. Part of the extended friends we made through trials were Brian Houghton ( in Australia now I believe?) and the late, but great, Kevin Bleasdale. I have moved away fro…

Hi guys (& gals?) I'm new here and Jeez, I'm getting old... I did a lot of club trials and we used to go to the SSDT regularly in the mid 70's as a spectator. (Bultaco Frontera 370 Enduro.) Continued biking ever since and I'm about to start Classic trialing again. (57!) I live in Mallorca so it's gonna be a Montesa or a Bulto or an Ossa. Trials is big here if on the dry side! No streams & no rivers except when it rains. Then we get torrents that would wash away Ewan McGregor complete with GS. But there's loads of enduro & off-roading except in July/August and then the cops chase the young 'uns coz they'll start forest fires. (The cops have KTMs.) I'm goi…

Hi All, just got myself a rev3 270 to increase my bike skills, I ride and race a KTM 690 R the Beta is a light little thing to ride and hope it will give a chance to gain the skills needed to get over obstacles, I took the 690 up Pant Glas near Monmouth UK and suprised my self but a clear stage it wasn't. Everytime I googled a question about the rev 3 it comes back here so rather than lurk I've registered. Noel

Been riding dirtbikes for more than 20 years, considering a used trial bike to improve the technical aspect. 2013 Sherco 3.0 with 40 hours 2015 Beta EVO 300 with around 30 hours Both in excellent condition, same price actually. Which would you choose? In a perfect world I’d pick a 250 but none available where I live.

Hey guys, after riding biketrials for over 10 years I finally got round to getting myself a bike with an engine! To play with for starting I've got myself a 98 Beta Techno which seems to be in reasonable nick and I'm not going to be bothered when it gets dropped or ridden into a tree... Anyway, I was wondering if anyone could point me towards places which are acceptable to practice on the bike- having been used to just riding in town centres and anywhere that takes my fancy, the addition of an engine has thrown a spanner in the works! I live near Bournemouth and work in Southampton and have so far had a quick play at Hut Hill near Southampton and Portland but still not s…

I've been fortunate to have fulfilled a long time goal having recently picked-up a really nice twin-shock TY250. I grew up in England in the early 80's with with friends who had a TY80 and TY175. They were beautful bikes and I tried everything to convince my folks to buy one! Instead, I got to ride my Dad's Honda PC50 moped - not quite as cool - but still much better than walking. Well now I'm in the club and I'm really pleased with my new ride. It's not perfect (what is after 40 years) and it's running a bit rough - so my next post will be in the Yamaha section! Would be great to hear from anyone in the Toronto area who rides vintage trials. I'm thinking I mig…
