  1. HI. Live just outside Milton Keynes and joined the local club again after a temporary break of 32 years. Never gave up bikes though, quite the opposite. Went and watched a trial at Great Brickhill a week or so ago and thought it looked a lovely way to spend a day out. Now got myself a Beta Evo 250 2T 2011 which I am currently working through trying to get as good as I can before giving it a go on the local club ground just to get a bit fitter and have fun doing it , as I last did all those years ago. But who knows, one day I might try a proper trial to see just how many points it is possible to amass Keith

I'm Peter and I live near Kendal in the Lake District in Cumbria, UK. From the age of 10 until 20 I was a trials 'nut' and I owned an 'ex works' (oh yeah) Tiger Cub followed by an Ossa M.A.R. Due to lack of funds/supportive parents and transport I never really got things off the ground. I'm now in my mid fifties, fairly fit and healthy and I'm wanting to have another go Not got a bike yet but my thoughts are drifting towards a beta 250 Evo 4T. I've been a road rider since I was 16 and presently ride a Honda CB1000R. Peter

  3. Hi all Im a proud owner of a Montesa Cota 315R and Have just got hold of a Gas Gas JTR 250 1996 So here is my dilemma I have trouble with the bike running at low revs I started by cleaning the carb , took all jets out blasted them with cleaner and can see daylight through all holes . New spark plug and air filter Bike just wont idle properly , so could the pilot jet be too small ( although it did run fine about six years ago) I wondered if its got corrosion and isnt letting enough fuel through . It will only idle with the idle revs screw in quite a bit and wont settle down to a nice pop pop pop , just revs a bit higher and them drops right down and dies. It wo…

Hi, I am hoping to be starting trials riding again at 44 years old. I hope it not to late. As a kid I used to have a Bultaco 250, it was way to heavy for me. I have been way from bike riding for so long even though I do have a 450cc quad that I play on. I am on the look out for a trials bike at the moment but I may have to sell the quad first. Its looks like I have some reading to do as I have no idea what bike I should be looking for these days. Any Ideas fellas? I am 5' 10 & 14 stone. so 250cc up over cheers

  5. Hi Please can anyone help. I am trying to identify the bike in the photo. It was ridden by G Naylor during a trial held somewhere in the Yorkshire Dales during the 1950s. The exhaust looks quite distinctive but as a non motorcycle person I am struggling. My Dad (The dashing young cove in the photo) is 85 next week and we are trying to arrange a surprise for the big day. Any help appreciated. Thank you

Hello, My name is Ryan and I am returning to riding after a 4 year long break (had daughter). I have been riding for 33 years and competed in enduros in Colorado for many years. I recently bought a 2003 beta Rev3 250 to get back on a bike. I am a novice trials rider even though I WAS an A level enduro rider. I live near the Grand River Dam in Northeast Oklahoma and have a great practice area in the washed out dam run off. If anyone is nearby please contact me so we can go ride. I am a bigger guy and was wondering if anyone had any advise for setting up a bike for a 245lbs 6'4" rider. Does anyone have a source for heavier springs? are they needed at my skill le…

Hello to all.... after many years of restoring and driving Series Land Rovers, I have reduced my ownership to one only and have spent most of the raised funds on buying a BSA C15 for me and a TY80 Whitehawk for my son. I plan to get out and about and teach my son how to ride, although its been 20 years since I last had a trials bike! Merry Christmas and a happy new year Dan

  9. hello, all! I've just acquired a 95 Fantic 249 Section, it was unwanted and given to a friend. He didn't want it either(non-running), so I traded him some work on another bike for it. After a simple carb-clean and some fresh gas, it runs again! Woohoo! I've always wanted a modern trials bike-I've also got a TL 250 in the fleet-now I'm eager to start riding it. Naturally, I've got no information on parts resources or service info on this bike, so I started exploring the internet & wound up here. I'll post some questions in the Fantic section, hopefully the answers will pour in. I'm located in reno, nevada, usa. It's high desert country, with easy access to the Sie…

Hey guys! I figured I should properly introduce myself! My name is Zach and I'm an 18 year old college student. I picked up a trials bike last weekend simply because I wanted to get rid of my old fire fighter equipment and made a trade; the bike happened to be an old Beta. I am blown away by the torque of these things, it's amazing! Anyways, thanks for the resources and advice to help get mine back on the rugged terrain! Cheers! Zach

Gving some thought to returning to the trials scene. I started a long time ago - 27 years to be precise - and gave up when the born again road bike bug caught me. I have been attending trials over the last year as either a spectator of observer and although I enjoyed it. it's not the same as actually competing. Thing is, if I'm going to take trialsing up again, i don't knpw what type of bike to buy. I don't have a wadge of money ( kids at uni, etc) but I'm not going to skimp and buy a nail. I quite fancy getting myself a twinshock fatic or the like and then compete on the clubmas course, but will I end up frustrated with the bike ?? Also it sems to me that the twin s…

Hi I currently green lane on a KTM and I'm a member of the TRF. However I have been keen to get into trials after riding a friend's Montesa 4RT in Devon. So all going well I'm picking up a Beta Rev 3 250 this Friday and giving trials a go. I'm not a member of a club yet, I will just be looking for somewhere to practice to start with and get the hang of it. So hello to all.....I'm sure there will be lots of questions to follow. cheers Pete

Hello from Seaton Delaval near Whitleybay and Blyth. My son and son-in-law have already joined up on here and just joined a local Club this week. The youngsters are planning on doing some trials in 2012 and me, well Im not sure if its my thing. But Im sure I'll be needed for transport and mechanical issues. Anyway this place looks like a good place to start doing Trials.

Hi, surprised my account was still active its been a while ? I decided after 12 years away from trials it was time to get back on a bike. My last trial was in 2006 and sold my Beta back in 2007 due to divorce and a massive change in my life, needed to free up cash. Im in Lincolnshire and used to be in the RAFMSA, now a civvy so joining the North Lincs Club at their next trial which Im planning to ride. With help from my dad we managed to get a 2006 Rev3 270 and still had my riding gear other than boots and helmet, sorted those now..cant wait to ride again ?

  20. Well, here I am...... Which means I have joined the dark side. Last night at 10.30pm my wife emailed a seller to say that I could buy a clean 2003 Scorpa SY250. I spent about 15 minutes on the same bike a few weeks ago, outside the sellers garage and everything has gone from there. I have been riding bikes since age 14, and am now 48. Currently run a BMW R1200GS for my wife and I. I always wanted to ride a trials bike and used to play about with off road type bikes in the past. My intention is to enjoy myself..... maximum expectation is to be a novice dabber in a clubmans event or two every year. I live in Rochester, Kent in the UK, so if there are places close by…
