Hi guys After a few years off trials bikes and on faster stuff I've ditched my 700 Raptor and bought a 1997 Monty 315. A few jobs to do on it but pretty sound all in all. Fork seals to do and brakes are really weak so I'll be re-sealing the calipers and seeing if that sorts it. Steve

I've always enjoyed watching trials events, but now I want to get into it. I actually race offroad motorcycles for a living, but I know practicing on a trails bike will help me become a better rider. After the last couple of Endurocross's I know it's what I need to work on. I'm really looking forward to finding out more about it. Thanks! Best Wishes, Destry www.destryabbott.com

Hi there, i have recently bought a 94 tyz250 and I am hoping to get into the trials scene. I have done a couple of trials about four years ago and really enjoyed it. I am just getting my bike up to scratch before entering any competitions. Is anyone from around my area interested in maybe meeting up to give me a few pointers or riding advice? I have raced speedway, motorcross, and enduro, I have a fair amount of experiance at trail riding and also I have a cbr600fx road bike.

I just picked up my first Trials bike, a '23 Beta 250 Factory. I have been riding motorcycle for the past 50+ years with the last 15 years or so on Adventure bikes. I have a fair bit of off road riding, completing 7 Back Country Discovery Routes and the Trans America Trail coast to coast to coast this past summer. So far, having ridden the trials bike 3 times, about the only thing that seems to relate to riding trials is, "I can ride a motorcycle"! Early days yet, but pretty sure I'm going to enjoy this journey...😁

Howdy all, I'm Josh I've been looking for some more info and people into trials for a while now and came across this site. This looks like the best forum around to get connected. Trials has been in my family for around 30 years. Enthusiasm here in Idaho Falls seems to come and go. At one point we almost had a club going then things slowed down and that happend serveral times (though we never got close to starting a club again). Currently I don't know anybody around here that actively rides anymore. At then end of last summer the swing arm on my '99 techno broke in half. I haven't fixed it because of the snow and my jeep (i do alot with local offroading clubs a…

Hey guys, Well im from wrexham in north wales, been riding motorcross most of my life, but it has come to a point where id like to follow my passion. I've always wanted a trials bike but it men't going it alone, as all my friends ride motorcross too.. So im hoping you guys can give me some good tips and advice on buying my first bike. Im really unsure of what make and engine size to go for?.. Im not really a person to go in to competitions so this bike is going to be for learning and fun on the weekends. I've looked at a gas gas txt pro 200 and a beta rev3 250 so far. I've read a lot on the internet and ive been seeing people say gas gas weren't very good and something…

I'm looking at getting into trials for fun, been on bikes all my life but never trials for some reason. I have the chance of a Montesa 315r 2000 model. It looks a bit rough but Im told its mechanically sound. How much is it worth ? tinkering with bikes isn't a problem either, in fact I'd expect to be doing it anyway. Thanks

Hello everyone, I used to ride TY50's & TY80's when I visited my cousin way back when as a kid and have rekindled my passion for bikes and off road riding just recently. I purchased a TY125 that was advertised on Ebay a few months ago from a seemingly reputable bike dealership in Kent. I am new to trials and bike riding in general and thought it would be a good project to get the bike road legal. On further inspection and after purchasing a Haines manual, I have realized that the bike does not have a frame number. I made it clear to the vendor my intentions before I traveled to Kent from the North West and collected the bike and did not know what to look for. I was…

  13. HI all, I'm in Alabama, USA, and have been playing with Vintage Pentons for a while, and now have my first Trials bikes. One is a 74 Yamaha TY250 which I intend to ride a lot. The other is a 78 Montesa Cota 348, which is very nice original, but is missing the headlight and switches. Thanks, and looking forward to playing in Trials, Keith Meatyard

First posts on forums are always difficult, but here goes..... Fat and over forty, I've been competing in enduros and rallies for quite a number of years, but have decided to take up trials riding. With this in mind, I've recently purchased an '03 Gas Gas 250 TXT PRO. Quite a revelation, and so easy to ride (on my drive ), I wish I had done it years ago. I'll be looking to enter a few local events in the new year, so any tips and pointers would be more than welcome. I went and had a look at a couple of sections at an event in Dover a couple of weeks ago, and decided that it was do-able (though the ground conditions were good).

Just bought my first trials bike, a 1990 Fantic 247 (w/ 305 graphics) converted to twin shock. Another forum member (forgot who) did the work a few years back, I just picked it up from my local trials shop. Converted to run a local air cooled / drum / conventional fork / twin shock class. I'm in the central New York area. Having fun putting around my backyard. Going to attend events next season. Let me know if you're in the area!

Hi Folks I say relative as a couple of years ago I got myself a '97 GasGas JTX250 and all the gear, joined the ESTC, practiced falling off a bit, did one observation and then stopped riding for the next two years. Anyway I'm determined to have a better go this time round, I would really like to take up the sport, get more practice in and actually take part in some trials. Although I've still got the JTX I'm contemplating going twinshock as there's no way at my age (51) I'm going to start rock hopping. Hopefully I'll meet up with some of you and pick up some tips All the best Ian

Hello All, After an absence of 30 years plus I decided to have another go at keeping my feet up. Back in the day I rode Bultaco's but could not find one to make my "come back" on so ended up with a 1980 349 Cota instead. I remember riding one in the early 80's although not as agile as a Sherpa (bit longer wheelbase) it felt stable, think I am going to need all the stability I can get! The bike is a black frame red tank model, but not the SSDT replica, my memory is not that good but I think the SSDT came out in to celebrate win before the white tank red frame World Championship replica which I think was 1981? My question is did the 349 come into product…
