Blimey Rossi in second place...thats rare now. He had been languishing in the mid pack last season but now he seems to have got a new mojo. High track temperatures meant most riders had tyre trouble with degradation and slip which caused at least 5-6 biggies and at least one stretcher case. In the end Rossi failed to make it a win, but it is good to see him out with the front runners.

  2. Finally after Mondays advertised showing was cancelled, saw the programme yesterday Tuesday. Marc Marquez high-sided after a tremendous push through the pack after taking to the kitty litter big time when leading. It was a miracle he managed to stay upright and rejoin near the back of the pack, so then he proceeds to demolish everyone and fight back to second only to get caught out by himself (tyres were an issue for many riders) a wobble, a twitch and then the kick and way up goes Marc to land on the sand but then gets punted by his bike. After flailing about and rolling a few times his right arm looked to be in a right state. The bike was trashed and Marc looked to be i…

Yes, I know this is a trials site, but it has a MotoGP section so I may as well use it to have a bit of a moan. This morning I received an email from PayPal stating that Dorna (the organisation that runs MotoGP) have grabbed about £125 from my account. This is the cost of viewing the 2020 GPs. Unfortunately I was unaware that this was an automatic payment triggered at the end of the final race of the 2019 calendar which happened yesterday at Valencia. My gripe is that this sum was grabbed without prior warning. Personally I would have preferred an email informing me that this sum was about to be deducted from my bank account and that it could be cancelled if I so wished. …

Yesterday's Argentina MotoGP was a good 'un. Congrats to Cal Crutchlow for a fine win. However the main talking point was Marquez's aggressive riding. This was probably caused by a rush of angry adrenaline after being given a 'drive through' penalty for riding in the reverse direction at the start after stalling his engine and then bump starting (ooh, complicated to explain). When given the penalty he was in the lead, but he rejoined the race at the tail end, hence his anger. From that point onwards he rode like a maniac right up to about fifth position (if I remember correctly), having barged his way past most of his competitors including Rossi who crashed due to be…

You have to hand it to Rossi, he may be older than most MGP riders, he may be amongst the tallest, but he can still cut the mustard and show most how it’s done. Good coverage from Channel 5 and the commentary plus Hodgkinson was very entertaining in my opinion.?? Well done Rossi. Cal Crutchlow gave a storming performance, keep it up ????

When is he going to face the fact that he just isn't as fast as the top three now? Adding JB to his list of excuses really sucks,i don't believe he would have had exactly the same success over the years without him.Has anyone mentioned a replacement? If he goes into the tests following this weekend without a race engineer who understands the bike then surely he's already compromising his 2014 season.Stoner went to early,Rossi's going to hang on too long when he should've gone out on top.

I was just getting to the stage where i could start to give him a bit more credit ( other than his natural talent) and he goes and confirms what i always thought of him! He always used to laugh it off when he was "firm" against other riders but he can't handle it when he's on the receiving end can he? Lin Jarvis said in his statement that Valentino's not a dirty rider.......i suspect Sete Gibernau would disagree. When Jorge started beating him on the Yamaha we had the nonsense of the split garage and engineers not sharing data, then he said they couldn't both be in the same team so he ran away to Ducati, now he's threatening that he might not ride in valencia ( boo hoo)...…

  13. I cannot for the life of me see how Marc Marquez could be off the podium at Brno and miss out beating the record of Giacomo Agostini, 11 straight wins. He was in the 1.55's on Saturday to take the Pole. Vale had a finger injury in a nasty crash, and still managed to stay ahead of him. Am I to believe this was just an off day for the World Champion?

  15. Started by 90vanman,

Hi, having watched a lot of road/track racing through the years, I am becoming more incredulous at the recent riding styles of late. Back in the fifties and sixties TOP riders such as M Hailwood etc used to ride very tidily and tucked in. The tyres of the day were by no means as good as those in use today, even for the lower power outputs available then, bearing in mind that the rider used the THROTTLE to control the rear wheel, not traction control and ABS systems. Why is it that 'knee-down' became the fashion, I thought at the time it became popular that it was 'posing', especially when ordinary road riders started doing it, claiming it was essential. to keep this missi…

I wonder if HRC Honda would have eeked out a Championship this past year without the jump on Yamaha with that seamless transmission. I've noticed the 253mph Bugatti runs the same type of gearbox. Even VRossi has said it makes a difference. Who invented it first?

  20. I have to admit, I've only been following MotoGP for 5 or 6 years, and I dont know what went down much earlier than that, however, what i've seen happening this season between Yamaha and Ben Spies, has been awfully suspicious. First off, I want to say thanks to all of you guys who gave me a super explanation of why Dovi went (is going) to Ducati. With Ben Spies, it seems since he announced his departure with Yamaha at the end of this season, he's had nothing but bad luck and mechanical failures. The broken shock bolt at Laguna, the blown motor... The slipping clutch? Does this seem a little suspicious to you by a major manufacturer?
