I can't imagine that the (7mm/0.25") shorter plug would help. The correct NGK plug would be one of the following: BP5ES, BP6ES, BP7ES. I've successfully used all three heat ranges, but I typically run the middle heat range, i.e. the BP6ES. Hope this helps, Don
