Thanks again for the info you've all given me on me last guestion. Now here's another. Do i just disconnect my autolube system if I want to premix my fuel. And does any body know what the oil,petrol mix would be. Sorry if Iam being a pain. Squid.

Hello again. About a month ago I had a problem with me carb on a ty 125. The float was blocked thus flooding me engine. Thanks to various people on this site alls working dandy now. Its just the first time I took it out I had this muck dribbling out the exhaust. I assummed it was just excess fuel passing through the system. Anyway I've taken the exhaust off to decoke and there was quite alot of this treacle. Please tell me its not me autolube system needs tinkering with as I've looked at me manuel and it looks a bit beyond me. Cheers Squid.

Ahoy there. Can any one confirm if theres one or two O rings on the end of the pipe. I had one in the groove and another up against the lip. Thanks again. Squid.

Sorry another probably stupid question by me but I've got 2 rubber o rings on the end of me silencer pipe, 1 in the groove and 1 butted up against the 'flange' if you get me meaning. Should there be 2 in there as I can only see one in me manual. Also when replacing these O rings or ring is there just one size that does the job as the 1 touching me flange is stretched somewhat. Hello out there. Ive just taken the tail end of my exhaust off and thick oily juice dripped out the end, which was a suprise. I stuck a chop stick in the pipe and theres a fair lot of dung in there. Can I put a cork in the end and pour Caustic soda in there and leave it to eat the crud over night or would this damage whats in there. Squid.

Nooby I went to have a look at Yam TY in my little hatchback, thinking if I was going to get it I'd hire a van and come back and load her up. Fell in love and bought her there and then and did wiggle it into the car in one piece but did bugger me wrist. Like Everyone else I'd get a towbar and trailer now. Squid.

Hello Mattylad. Thanks for that,makes sense. I do keep me eyes peeled for TY 175 cylinder heads but I hav'nt seen anything for a while besides one that had some serious marks in the barrel. Hello I'd like to upgrade my standard 1976 Ty 125. The original Rayer upgrade kit is very hard to come by but he still produces a kit for a DTMX. Has anybody out there bought and used this one? P.S took the diddy girl out at the weekend for a mooch in the woods and she's behaving well, I love it but would love a bit more grunt. Thanks Squid.

Thanks to Tony, the soft tapping got the float chamber body off. I was surprised it seemed quite fresh in there. I cleaned out as recommended,and blew compressed air in the holes. I didn't remove any jets beside the one under the float, which did have a little chalkyish buildup on its sides.I gave that a very gentle clean and reassembled ,switched me fuel on and the floodings stopped. Great. Tried to start her though, nothing at all. Checked me plug and its wet and black. Wiped it and its the good brown underneath . Does this bring anything to mind. I've 7 day's to wait till me Haynes manual arrives so if it get too technical I'll have to wait till then. Thanks Squid.

Hello Again. I dont like to be a pain but I'd just like to ask before I progress any further. I've taken the carb off the bike and removed the 4 retaining screws in the 'sump' part of the carb. By just doing this should the sump part come away? I ask because it will not budge, I dont want to use any undue force and damage the carb body. Iam mincing a bit here due to no knowledge. I feel a bit ashamed to of only got this far and needing to write another mail but I'd hate to break anything due to my ignorance. I've got to wait a week for my Haynes manual to arrive,impatient I know but I hav'nt been out for over 2 weeks on her and Iam getting the shakes. Regards to all. Squid.

Hello I thought I'd slip another post on here concerning my TY 1K6 gearbox problem. 1st 2nd and 3rd work but I cant find the others. Well it moves into a higher gear but Iam not sure which as there's no feel in locating anything. Thanks Squid.

Hello all I've just got me suckers on a diddy 1976 TY 125. She starts well and looks sweet. I've a few problems though ,one being difficult higher gear selection and the other,which I'd like to explain in this mail is the carb. Iam into getting me tentacles dirty but Iam a little retarded as far as mechanical things but Iam making a determined effort to start learning now,today. My Carb problem is this. I turn on the fuel, get her going and fuel shoots out of both the plastic tubes that exit the lower body of the carb. Sorry, iam not sure of these tubes actual name, Iam currently looking for a Haynes manuel so I can explain better in future posts. Thats it. Thanks. Squid.
