  1. I have checked all the engine mounts and they were all tight so looks like I am going to need to strip the engine down and check the main bearings. Many thanks for your comments I will report back my findings
  2. Hi Guys I am hoping someone can give me some advice as to what could be causing what I would describe as excessive vibration from the engine on my 2007 Rev 3 250. The bike always starts and runs fine but I have noticed for some time that there is excessive vibration felt through the frame/pegs which gets increasingly worse at higher revs (both in gear and neutral) which is particularly noticeable when riding between sections. When I bought the bike the waterpump seal had been changed by the dealer but I found that the coolant was mixing with the gearbox oil. When I investigated I found that the replacement seal fitted by the dealer was not seated properly in the housing so I replaced the seal and since this time this issue has been cured. My fear is that when coolant was being lost the bike could have overheated and I am wondering if this caused the vibration problem as I do not remember it being an issue when I got the bike. Any suggestions as to potential causes and anything I should check would be much appreciated.
  3. Many thanks, that is a very useful guide for stripping the engine down. Matt
  4. Thanks for your comments, I got the spanners out at the weekend but all nuts and bolts seemed tight. Please can you let me know what dry mains is? I am presuming it means replacement of the bearings on the crankshaft, if I am correct does anyone know if there are any guides for doing this. Many thanks Matt
  5. Hi I've got a 2007 Beta Rev 3 250 and it has a lot of vibration through the bars and pegs compared to my friends 2008 Rev3. I checked the rubber block between the engine and bash plate was seated correctly as initially I wondered if it was transfering vibration from the engine into the frame but it possitioned fine. I have searched through the forums but can't find anything so if anyone has any ideas it would be much appreciated. Many thanks Matt
  6. Checked the ground wire and found it had not been cut it was connected to the frame so fitted kill switch and all working. Many thanks again for all the help and advice given it was much appreciated.
  7. Many thanks for all your replies, as said and as I can now see in the manual the black and white/black wires in the 4 wire harness are the ones to connect to. I will try later and report back. Thanks again for your help
  8. Hi, I'm new to the world of trials and have just bought a 2007 Beta Rev 3 250. The previous owner had for some reason removed all the switches and headlight. I have bought a universal kill switch and wanted to check which wires to connect it to. There is one connector with two wires (1 x black, 1 x white) another connector with four wires (1 x white with black stripe, 1 x blue, 1 x white with blue stripe, 1 x black) and two separate wires (1 x blue, 1 x black). I presume the original kill switch would just plug into one of these connectors but as I do not have one I was wondering if someone could tell me which wires the kill switch should be connected too. Any advice would be much appreciated. Photo showing wires http://i572.photobucket.com/albums/ss162/s...09032010264.jpg Many thanks Matt
