[Montesa 309 clutch]

Hi All

     the clutch on my old 309 mont is worn out anybody out there know if the 315 has the same clutch plates as these are easily available  or where to get 309 plates from.

           have been using atf in it is this suitable.?

Hi All

     having a few clutch issues with my 1989 montesa 309.Its fine when cold and warm but when hot neutral is difficult to select has silkolene light gear oil 750ml fitted anybody know if this is correct have no information on the bike,anybody used ATF ?

Bought a 309 new in 1989 powerful soft motor rode it most weekends in club trials for about 4 years never had any problems with it then put it in the shed for 20 years just getting it up together to ride in the air cooled mono class,most parts seem to be available inmotion seem to have a few parts.Never seen another one for years,only bike I ever kept,others came and went.

Orgionals were girling gas,13.4" These were on the modified TY frame.

For information the Montesa 304-307 & 309 all use the same shock,found an excellent condition one on ebay £20

         Bike sorted.

               There is nothing on it not even a makers name,just wanted to order one up as this one will get destroyed getting it out to measure the case bore dia,shaft and seal width.

The rear shock on my 309 is leaking badly are they repairable or common with any other models,a serviceable  used one would help me out !!!!

Thanks for reply will get the gearbox oil changed.Your suspension is very different to mine is the capacity the same.Any idea of viscosity.

Hi all

      just bought an old 309 mont been stood many years would like to know the gearbox oil capacity and type,also same for the forks.

        Going to drain the old fuel & clean out the carb see if it will run,then I,ll have some more questions for you guys.

Hi have just fished my old tlm 250 out of the garage to start riding again after a long lay off,see there,s alot of interest in them were they hand built,has a rear silencer with HRC written on it.Thanks in advance. Chas
