The problem was cured with the new Thermostat fitting at the bottom of the radiator. All good now .. i hope.

So.... Narrowed it after a long time to a faulty thermo switch on the radiator. Fitting one next week so will know for sure then

Same happened me. I sprayed in some Wd 40 and it cured the problem.

Does anyone know what the current from the stator should be ?

Hi. I have a 2008 Beta rev 3. Lately she has been boiling up due to the fan speed not running high enough. Thermostat ok Regulator ok (New). Checked the fan unit on a 12v Battery out of the bike , and it spins like hell. So why is my fan not spinning fast enough on the bike? ( i can stop it with my little finger) This is wrecking my heed. All help greatly appreciated.

I will increase the idle speed first and see how that goes. Thermostat kicks in fine

Out Last weekend, admittedly very warm in some tight forest. Bike boiled up during ride. Checked fan and it runs very slowly on tickover. Once throttle is applied fan speed picks up Ordered a new regulator and problem the same. Contemplating ordering a new fan unit. Thermostat ok. Can anyone describe what the fan should be like on tickover. ? I can put my finger into fan and stop it spinning very easily on tickover. Much more difficult with throttle applied. Is this normal. Cheers
