  1. hi everyone i have sherco 290 2000 and process of rebuild and think may have gearbox in wrong . the cases are back together so i want help first before i take it apart . it doesnt go into gear properly its like its stuck in between 2 gears that round spindle selector with the pins on the righthandside only turns a bit and gets stopped or stuck its like stuck on top off a tooth can anyone help please cheeers.
  2. hey there right alpha bearings have got my crank , i need a conrod kit unless i get recondition crank from somewhere if its possibly cheaper ?? any help ?
  3. okay thanks buddy . can anyone help me i want a full gasket set for sherco 290 2000 model ive found 1 for 38 pounds . is that cheap what would you say trial riders ?>

  5. hi mate yeah whats the rough cost of it now anyway mate ?? just incase they try con me haha and whats the best stuff to use to clean the engine and what are sherco like for riding power wise ? im new to it hah
  6. yer minimal movement up and down and slihtly side to side . bearings are goosed lol do you know any cheap kits ? cheers ive sent crank away to get looked at gettin it reconditioned cheers
  7. hello there . right then i have a sherco 290 2000 model bought as project got told needed rebuild . ive stripped it down now and all bearings need replacing i can get get all of them exept the big end bearings . i have to buy conrod kit apparently to get them but i dont want to spend this sort of money lol at the moment im hoping the crankshaft pin isd fine . so i want to split the crank measure bearings and match them up . copuld i do this i need help thanks matt

  9. hi i have a sherco 290 2000 model and doing an engine rebuild and want help as all my bearings ceased etc main little end big end i can get hold of the little end and crankshaft bearings but apparently i need to buy conrod kit to get big end bearings but im hoping i can get bearings off ? and match them up van i have help please cheers matt

      The reason is that the con-rod will be worn if the bearing is worn. You should always replace them as a set. It would be awful to go to all the trouble of rebuilding the crank and have it fail again because you didn't replace the rod. It is way too big of a job to cut corners.
