  1. Hi Guys, Anyone ride or rode a GASGAS TX270 (2001)????? I'm about to buy one as my 1st bike, I've had bikes before, so not brand new to bikes - but it's been a while! Looking for advice please on the followng points; 1.) Is this ok for a begginer/novice, or too powerful? 2.) What is the maintenance schedule for such a bike, should I be changing the oil every ride?? 3.) If, in the experts opinion this bike is too powerful for a begginer, what would be a good alternative? 4.) Finally, the bike I'm about to buy is a 2001 model in good condition with light use, do you thing
  2. Hi guys, First posting, so go easy - please!! Well, it's been 20 years since I last owned and rode a Trial bike, a Fantic 201. I've always loved off roading, had my first twist and go at 8, inspired by my Uncle who is bike crazy (he rides the SSDT etc....). I have finally decided to take the plunge. My life has changed considerably since my last bike, ie wife, 2 kids, different career etc - so I guess that's why I've been out of it for so long! I'm looking for advice please. I have NEVER rode in a Trial, I always rode my bikes for fun, although I did go to trials with my Uncle as a child (Long time ago!). I now live in Saddleworth near Manchester. I've trauled the internet and have managed to narrow my club search down to a few. Rochdale TC looks like it is the closest, so if anyone is a member and could give me some advice it would be appreciated. Likewise, I've had a look at Manchester17 and a couple of other clubs close by....Any members near Saddleworth????????? With regards to the rest, I've just won a GASGAS 250TXT 1996 model on ebay, looking to pick it up next week, looks pretty clean, and will hopefully be mechanically sound. Do you think this is a good beginners bike?? Finally, I work pretty unsocial hours, and can work several weekends per Month. What is the club protocol (if any) with regards to Trials. Can you do as many or little as you wish, or is there a minimum to maintain your membership? Thanks guys, Hope to be out there soon! Cheers Jim ( jtdfahey@hotmail.com)
