  1. UPDATE: The bike ran well till last week; again NO SPARK....^$#$%%^^@@@ Took it to another Fantic enthousiast and now the problem is really solved: the Mitsuba bobine is broken...... ...it worked and it did'nt worked and so on and so on We've put another Ducati bobine on it and the spark flew to heaven..... Cheers, Bernie
  2. Problem solved: Had to adjust the floaterlevel a little bit. The carb hangs a little bit to the right side so both the floaters have a different adjustment. Runs like a new one..... Cheers, Bernie
  3. Ha ha ha .......OK let the games begin!! If they are vent holes, i can understand my problem a little bit better; there's to much atmospheric pressure in the carb, otherwise they would'nt overflow. So i have to solve a pressure problem. Perhaps by adjusting the floater, so that there is a little less fuel in the carb? I will contact my supplies, www.snezzy.be, for further inquiry. Thanks for the reply BillyT Cheers, Bernie (a newby Fantic forum user after a 25years trials retirement.... :-) )
  4. Just put my new Mikuni VM26 on my Fantic 300 and after adjusting the carb it runs fine. During my practice today i noticed that the carb has an overlfow by the three overflow nozzles. Does anyone now waht this may be? It's a brandnew, un opened, Mikuni carb. Cheers, Bernie
  5. Hi there, Has anyone tried the NGK Iridium BR8EIX spark plugs for the Fantic 300 (or other types)? Or should i stay with the old fashioned, and still working strong, BR8 spark plug? Cheers, Bernie
  6. Hi Glenn, That's a good advise! I can't stand it when something works / not works, and i don't know what the exact problem is...... So i will change the wires and reconnect and iron all cables with new ones. I knwo the bike; i rode it 25 years ago (when i was young.....snif snif...) in competition and at that time it felt as a superiour bike. A little bit heavy but with the tork of a hummer! It's a lot better then the Honda TLR200 (is for sale......) Bernie
  7. Hi mates! A miracle just happened! I'm not a quitter so i went back into the garage and tried the old and the new coil....no result. For the last time put back the old coil, connected everything and then.......sparks sparks.....lots of sparks!!! What made the change?.....i really don't know...honestly...i really don't know.... But it works.... And the new Mikuni tm26 worked immediatly....just a little adjusting..that's all. Only have to look for a small seat because mine has an larger seat. Thank you all for the inputs and thinking!!!! Cheers, Bernie (ps: sorry for my english writing...)
  8. Hi John, It's not a carb problem; it's an electrical problem; i don't get any spark No spark; no ignition; no fun.....:-(
  9. I try to get a spark with the plug out of the head. I just hold it against the head to see if it gives a spark.
  10. Sorted by time: Monday: purchased the bike; it ran without problems The next few days; - changed the carb en inletrubbers - changed the airfilter - changed the handlebars (the kill switch isn't connected) - changed the chainset Thats it! I even thought about the electrics The only thing; on transport to holland the bike fell on its right side in de truck and after transportation i haven't started it yet....... could something be broken near the flywheel???
  11. Fitted the Ducati coil; changed red to green and green to red; one little spark........that's it! Turned the cables back to their normal colour code; nothing. Then changed the colors back to oposite;....one little spark. The funny thing is; past monday it started well at the guy i bought it from, took it back to Holland, changed and serviced some things (did NOT touched any of the electrics)and it won't start again. I think i'm going slightly mad..... The problem is; i don't have the tools to take the flywheel off. Otherwise i could look at te inside... eehhh.....any suggestions?....somebody??
  12. Hi Lee, I'm picking up this coil tomorrow: http://www.mokix.com/articleList.aspx?zoekopartikelnummer=&zoekopomschrijving=ducati&zoekopindex=&zoekopmerk= I hope it's the good one Bernie
  13. That's just it.....i did'nt touch it with a drip of water. Just put a new chain on it, cleaned out the brakes and put a new mikuni on it. I'm going to collect a new Ducati coil tommorow (fits on many scooter bikes) and try it....
  14. Hi everybody, My name is Bernie and i'm from Holland. Last week i've purchased my '84 Fantic 300 Pro (the Michaud replica) Last monday i fired it up at the previous owner and it worked allright. This week i serviced the bike (did nothing to the electrical) and today i tried to fire it up; no result. The problem is; i don't get any spark! The bobine is an Mitsuba 3390 from Italy. Does anybody know what the problem could be? Greetz....Bernie
