  1. I created one using a Kawasaki KX250 tall seat. I put a little seat foam underneath it and straped it to the chasis in two places. The mounting tabs at the back of the seat can be bent and mounted to the rear Beta fender bolts. I can email you a pic if you want.
  2. Hi, Looking for suggestions as to what maintenance items I should be doing on my Rev3 over the winter. So far my list includes, repacking muffler, lube all bearings, bleed clutch and brake fluid, tighten spokes, drain gas, replace oil, and clean air filter. Some of these items are repeated regularly over the course of the season but I am sure I am forgetting something. Thanks, Greg
  3. Why order from B.V.M? With the horrific conversion rate, GBP to USD, and the overseas shipping cost, it still cost $20 less than the best price I found in the US. I have purchased other stuff from B.V.M and found them to be very good.
  4. I assume that they have sent me the wrong one in error, it was not in a sealed bag with the part number on it. I have the two pot caliper and can see that the bracket they sent fits a slightly larger caliper. Thanks for the replies, now I can at least pretend I know what I am talking about when I call them back.
  5. I am in the US but ordered the part from B.V.M Moto in the UK. My locating peg is the screw type.
  6. Hi, I bent the rear caliper bracket on my '01 Rev3 250, pictured on the left of the attached picture. I ordered a new one, part # 28-94550, and got the one pictured on the right. The new one cannot be made to fit. Does anyone know if I got the wrong part number or if they changed the bracket and the older one is no longer available? Thanks, Greg

    Mileage

I tested it this weekend in varying trail conditions including road, steep hill climbs, deep mud, snow and single track and it did approximately 12 miles per liter. Much better than I expected. Thanks.

    Mileage

How many miles and how many hours of riding time can I expect to get out of a full tank of gas on a '01 Rev3 250? Thanks, Greg
  9. I contacted Beta directly and they sent me a service manual, no charge. Be advised that it is not a factory workshop manual so don't expect to find the procedures for rebuilding the motor. It includes basic information on maintenance, fluids and setup. Cool to look at but not very useful.

    Bar Width

My problem is really trying to convert this bike to an enduro\trials bike without having to swap handlebars based on the type of riding. Sounds silly, I know, but it is nice to occasionally go on longer trail rides with a very light flickable bike instead of an overpowered 4-stroke tank. I jerry-rigged a long ride seat, and carry extra gas and all I need now is narrower bars to keep up with my enduro riding friends when the trail gets narrow. I am not very good trials rider, but enjoy plinking that bike around in a dual-purpose way.

    Bar Width

Thanks for the replies, it seems cutting 3 inches off is too much. I will try trimming a little at a time to see if it helps. Thanks

    Bar Width

I am considering decreasing the bar width on my Rev-3 to 30 inches from 33 inches to match the width of my enduro bike bars. I have trouble adjusting to the increased width when I ride the Beta in the trails and my knuckles do not like the trees very much. Does anyone do this and what, if anything, would I loose from doing this?
