Bike has been sitting since last outing. Went to start it today as the laddie was wanting to go out tomorrow and it won't start.
It acted as if it was running out of fuel like it usually does before the plug dies. I stuck it back in the garage in the huff but will need to get it running later.
I'll clean everything again and fit another new spark plug. This is really ruining the enjoyment of the wee bike and I'd love to get it sorted.
The carb has a wee screw you need to use a screwdriver on and a thumb screw. Wee one is 1.5 turns out and the thumb screw I use for adjusting the idle?
Bike was out today and was a bit better. If you caught it fouling you could actually rev it out to clean it. Before it would be the first sign of the plug about to crap out.
I just tried it again with fresh spark plug and you're right, no start from cold without choke.
Carb stuff written on the fuel can is 70ml oil, fuel screw 1 1/2 turns out, clip on second from bottom, Jets 100 70 38.
I cleaned the carb again, still spotless. I use carb cleaner and compressed air.
I found the clip was second from the top so moved it down one to second from the bottom, what difference would this make?
I fitted the b7es plug seeing as it was handy.
The wee bike started first kick and didn't rev it's wee head off in a cloud of smoke like it usually does. I'm taking tomorrow off to let him try it out so will report back.
I'm in sunny Scotland but really actually awa wi the faeries.
Will start from cold without choke with new plug. Correct plug as far as I know. Carb settings are written on his fuel can, I don't know them off the top off my head, sorry.
Fresh plug gives big fat spark against frame.
2001 model.
Engine oil is good. Levels same before and after, nice and clean. Very black oily exhaust.
It can be worse if I have a go to get it unstuck or clear a trail obstacle he can't. Me revving it higher doesn't clean the plug as expected it just oils up quicker.
I have a b7es spark plug in the garage. Lower the number the higher the heat?
My boys Beta 80 keeps killing spark plugs and I'd like a little help with it please.
Most of the time they only last a few hours then you have to fit a new one. When you take an knackered one out it is black with oil not brown and dry like I think it should be. You can clean it up till it's spotless but it will never start the bike, does spark against the frame though.
It's had a new fuel filter, air filter, carb stripped and cleaned and setup but nothing changes, I must be missing something. I've been using around 70ml of Ipone strawberry 2 stroke to 5 litres of normal unleaded.
We've been lucky so far that it hasn't left us stranded but it has nearly ruined a few days when I've forgot a spare plug.
If anyone has any ideas on what could be causing this I'd love to hear them. Buying a box of b9es plugs hopefully isn't the only option.
I'm just back from my mates, well worth the trip. I got 7 brand new storage charged 5s packs and a brand new storage charged 6s he didn't need but thought I could use. No connectors fitted to the batteries so I might not go the deans route.
When you coming over gwhy ? The kettles just boiled and the soldering stuff is ready. Kidding man, I don't even have the connectors yet. Can't wait though.
If I have a 5000mah 3s I set the charger to charge at 5.0a. If I have a 3900mah 3s I set it to charge at 3.9a. Isn't this right ? I've always done it this way, I did wonder how my mate does his 5300mah 3s with the same charger though and never thought to ask.
The only thing I can think of the now is that if I've got chargers that will only do up to 5amps charge for my 5000mah 3s packs how do they deal with 12000mah ?
Would I just max the timer and mah limit on the chargers ?
Can parallel balance leads be bought ? I'm looking to have 1 balance plug and 1 charge plug per bank of 3 batteries. I have seen balance boards but I'm trying to make this as fuss free as possible to charge.
Edit : I missed the bit at the bottom of your last post about the balance leads sorry !
Do I need one with 3 plugs into 1 for each pack of 3 ?
I couldn't wait to ask this as I'm already looking at parts and other possible charging setups. It's like christmas !
I use deans connectors on all my radio controlled stuff and I'm guessing the lipos from my mate will have deans on them as well. Will these be okay ?
I've been reading up on parallel charging, seems the way to go ? None of my current chargers seem up to it so would need a charger to suit. I thought a multi charger would be best but can't find one with a built in power supply, all seem to need a seperate unit bought so looked into parallel charging using a single out charger with a parallel charge/balance board.
