Hi again, I've now had further confirmation from the fellas at DOT that they believe that the bike I have was shipped up to Brechins for John Noble to ride in the 1961 SSDT. I know from the help I got earlier this year that John Noble (rider 187) was listed to ride a BSA, but would anyone have any further info that might show whether he actually rode a DOT that year? It just seems a nice story, so it would be nice if it turned out to be true! Always grateful for any help. Thanks Ian

Thanks. It's actually Eric Adcock that I spoke to at DOT, so I'll give them another spin to see what I can find out.

Hi Sparks, Thanks for that info. Makes it interesting, although a bit disapointed he's not down to ride a DOT. I might have to try and get a bit more info from DOT to double check the year etc. Out of interest, if you have the programme, were there many DOTs listed? Cheers Ian

My brother and I are currently trying to sort out a load of bikes and parts that our parents collected over the years. We've done a bit of digging into a DOT we have and the info suggests it's 1961 works trials rep that was shipped up to Duncan's in Brechin for John Noble to ride in the SSDT. Would anyone on here have access to start lists/results from the early 60s to see if that could be true? Very grateful for any info or help.
