Only people who could stream it live would be the FIM and they aren't from what I can see. Press can't do video without paying a fee and even then it's limited to 20 minutes of clips. For the return, it's not worth it. Best you'll get is spectator video online post-event.
Hi I just don't know why it has only been the last 6months it has started to kick back, never did it from new in 2011 , plate looked good and hadn't changed at all,
I went 1.5mm and has been sweet since, I rode a event on the weekend and I didn't notice any power difference on the bigger steps with the 1.5mm change, maybe a bit smoother of the bottom but bugger all,
So sorry ??????? can't give you any more than that as I just don't know, all I know is it has stopped kicking back since I went 1.5mm
The bike is now changed from the original specs that Beta put out. So you are saying that a standard 300cc bike with standard timing from the factory kicks back and everybody should now change their timing?????
Not convinced that changing the timing solved the original problem only camouflaged it!
But hey if that works for you then go for it!
Cheers
I never said that, YOU just did! Im only talking about my Beta,
All Im saying it has fixed my bike and that is why I came on the forum to see if I could fix it, Which I have Didn't come on here for a bitch fight!
Or he is out spending lots of money on new CDI boxes, Flywheel pullers, Drill bits, etc when all he really needs is a big heavy left boot weighed down with lead shot and more left leg muscles LOL
Wullie Baxter needs tae ge him a bowl o Scots Porridge oats. Two rolls n square Lorne sausages an a bottel o Irn-Bru
It's all technique - try starting with the bike on a bike stand so that you have your right foot on the right footpeg, while kicking with your left - this gets your body up higher and makes it easier - you can also lean against your van or a tree etc to do the same thing - tip ! turn your bars slightly to the right, so that if the bike does kick back, it doesn't drive your knee into the handlebar. - I bet a few on this forum have had that happen, especially the older members - As Billy T says, You canna be timid.
Thanks, but I would NOT use this way of starting a bike, as with having your weight above the bike and if a motor is to kick back then you are more likely to break teeth, I have seen this happen before. Use your leg only and then if motor kicks back your leg will come back up, but yes keep your bars turned to the right so your knee don't hit bar,
1st, Thanks for all of your help even if some of it has got a bit of track,
My Beta is all fixed now and sorry it is NOT technique that did it, Have been kicking bikes over for 20 years and Im sure I wasn't doing it wrong all that time,
Thanks to all who said it needs to be retarded a little, You Were Correct!
This is what I did, Retard timing 1.5mm on the plate.
I did this on Friday night and have rode a 3 day event here on the weekend and Yes the bike has not kicked back one single time.
So Thanks again you guys have saved me $$$ and time in getting it fixed. Well Happy
Once again, I have seen too many of the machines doo this randomly to presume there is a CDI problem if it runs normally otherwise.
I am not positive the stator plate will rotate further to retard the timing without modification. Yet another thing one may do is add the additional flyweight, which helps prevent kickback due to the added carrythrough mass.
Yip Thanks, Not changing CDI now and I am going to retard it a little, But the thing is to how much should I retard it??????
Hi are you sure its not your kick method that is at fault. I don't know much about Betas but I ride a JT350 and you never want to give this a lazy kick or a prod because it will kick back like a mule. I always give it a good long kick using my body weight and it will start first time nearly all the time.
Gently find compression first then let kicker back to top then start.
Find someone else with a 300 and compare.
TLTEL
I am Kicking the **** out of it and it still kick back, so it not that,
going to see a m8 on the weekend with the same bike so will try his,
Advice on this ! Whatever you try ,just try starting with boot's on . Thirty stitches and a damaged calf muscle was the injury i received from not wearing boots when my bike decided to " fire back " and my mate had adjusted the timing a little bit .
Help please why my 2012 300cc 2stroke Factory Beta would be kicking back when I am trying to start it???
I give it a good hard kick and it has been kicking my kick start back up and wont start, it don't do it every time but maybe one of every 3/4 kicks it seems to be doing it.
it has not done it from new and only in the last 6 months it has started to do it,
