  1. Hi, thanks for help. Engine number is Tl125 se 1011406 Do you have a manual to check? Thanks Mat
  2. Its a 1976 model....
  3. Hi, I have a lazy kick start thst wont spring back. Assume itd the spring broken or dislodged. I took cluch cover off but cant see much. Is this an engine out and apart job to inspect and change? Thanks Mat
  4. Hi All, Just fitting a std muffler system to my TL with the triangle muffler etc, to replace a homemade jobbie I had. Can anyone share with me the images for how the muffler mounts to the frame. I have all the brackets, but want to see which sits on top of which if you know what I mean. All the google images stuff if not clear! Thanks Mat

Hi, What sort of end float is normal on the crank? Found about 3mm on the flywheel... Investigating why bike just wont run after 600 faultless miles! Has spark and now rebuilt carb twice, but still wont run. Compression tester ordered....any advice welcome! Mat
  6. Hi All, Just a quick update. Stripped carb, set up float, checked choke and fuel filter. Nothing seemed obvious. Checked points and there was some sparking, but normal I think. Then I thought I'd check the timing while I had the cover off. Then I found by adjusting the timing I could switch the fault on and off! So I have adjusted timing to get rid of it then rode for a good long while and it seems sorted! Thanks for your help! Mat
  7. Thanks all, will check as you advise and report back....
  8. Hi, Yes she runs fine when cold (has some off idle hesitation, but assume this is the standard 'cough'). I have not noticed it as gratual, engine runs fine then when I reach a stop (after 10 mins or so riding) and let here idle she would rev. I have played with the choke during this fault and putting the choke on stalls the engine. If I pull the choke on and then off quickly I can sometimes get the engine to rev again as normal, but more thimes than not it does not have an effect. When I do get it to 'clear' it seems to run okay as long as I don't drop back to idle. Thanks for your help!
  9. Hi, wonder if you can help. I have just got a new to me tl125 running, fitted new original carb, coil, plug etc and set it all up. However after riding for 10-15 mins when I drop the revs to idle it won't pick again. Opening thottle just causes a stuttering farty idle. if I ride it along on idle, after a few mins it will eventually pick up. Check for carb air leak and blocked tank vent, but nothing evedent. I have a bakealite original looking carb heat shield fitted too, so not sure if it could be heat on carb bowl. Any ideas? Thanks
  10. Thanks all for clear advice.
  11. Hi, Thanks for response, but im still unsure, does this link not show the body of the coil and otherwise of condensor earthed too? there is no wire just earthed through the coil bracket to the frame. With the coil body earthed and points open (no kill switch) I am getting continuity on the b/w wire to earth. If I unmount the coil from the frame then continuity goes to open circuit. Not sure if this is right? I have the stator away for rewind, so i can't even trail and error it! Thanks for your help. Mat
  12. Hi I am wiring up my TL125 project and just bought a new coil with the condenser fitted already - So it just has one black wire (lt). I have connect this to the B&W wire from the points and the ignition Stator. My question is that should the 6V coil external metal part be earthed to the frame or isolated from the frame? Thanks Mat

Hi Thanks for that good to hear: One like this you recon will be fine? Just did not want to waste my money. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-TL125-TL-125-1983-and-1988-Replacement-Carb-/261195034039?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item3cd06fedb7 Thanks again Mat

Hi All, New to this world having just bought a 1976 TL125s. The flange on the Keihin carb is cracked and I'm a little lost for options in a world of potential compatibility and Chinese copies of unknown quality. Can any one offer good advise on what to replace it with and where to get one! Thanks Mat
