Hi I'm from forres I have a beta rev3 very new to trials and bikes but enjoying it I joined the Inverness club

    Alrite mate,

I didn't even know there was an Inverness club, will need to look into that.

Remove your pads and check them also check your disc i had same problem on a Gas Gas i used to own,Pads might be worn or contaminated.also there is also a clutch adjusting screw just under the mid box for your clutch.well there is on my 2007 might be a good idea to change your gearbox oil if you have just bought it.

    Thanks Biks,

Will get a good look at it this weekend.

Was thinking of doing a pad change as they're cheap anyway.

  3. As above, just picked one up a week ago.

Anyway,  I don't know a great deal about bikes - Cars are my thing.

1 - Front brake squeel is terrible, it's so loud and also the brake is not sharp when you pull it on.

2 - Clutch drag - When riding and i pull the clutch in I can still feel the bike wanting to pull forward.

    Are these common issues?

  4. How do all?

I'm Connor and based up in the Highlands, Scotland (just outside of Inverness)

Just got bought another trials bike after been off one for a fair few years.

Picked up a Scorpa SY250 2004 to mess about with now I'm fed up of messing with cars, just sold my Westfield fully caged road/track car with a ninja engine. So bought a Porsche and a trials bike.

I'm lucky to have a huge forest on my doorstep with a nice tricky burn running through it.

Only been out on the bike a couple of times in the passed week as been working on trail :)

  5. Hi All,

    Question, I have a GAS GAS TXT200 year 2000.

The clutch seems to be dragging on it for example when the lever is pulled in to free wheel the gear is still slight engadged as when I knock it into neutral it free wheels a lot easier.

And when the lever pulls in if there is no weight on the bike it creeps forward.

The nut on the lever is fully screwed out.

    What could this be?

Doesn't affect the running of the bike but I'm sure it will put extra wear on the clutch.

  6. Problem solved, cable was dragging at the carb.

Been out for a good while on it with NO issues.

Sorted the kill switch aswell, one of the contacts was not touching the switch so thats that done.

  7. Thanks for the information lads so handy having a forum where people reply so fast.

I will be going out in a few mins to take the carb off again still a little tender from a unplanned night out.

    i'm in Inverness.

  8. Hi All,

Was out for a while today and the bike cut out and would only start on the choke but barely run.

Got home and took the carb off and it was minging inside and so was the airfilter.

Cleaned both up and the bike started first kick but went to FULL THROTTLE. Once I got it off the checked the throttle and can hear it moving in the carb and all looks ok.

    Any ideas?

There is 2 screws on the carb one larg one with a spring and a smaller one to the left. What are the settings for them.

    Thanks in advance

  9. Stupid question but where do I drop the oil from the engine, do I take the belly plate off?

The previous owner had it rebuilt by a "friend" around 1 month ago apparently but I took that with a pinch of salt.

Does the bike look like a 2000/2001 to you? The lad never knew to much about bikes.

    Thanks

  10. As above,

Apparently its a 2001 model and is 200cc. I haven't had a bike in about 10 years and thought its time to get back on one (28 now)

Runs very well and starts first kick, Engine is a wee bit noisy but my old Gas Gas was awell, was on it a good few hours last night and had no issues.

Fan occasionally came on when I started it but went off straight away.

A wee pic from the for sale advert

Anyways looking to service myself, I'm very handy on the tools but its cars I always deal with not bikes.

Any advice or guides and is there a way of checking the oil in the bike.
