  3. hi guys I did my first trial on Sunday in the rain, this was 30 years since I last rode a Sherpa t 350. I really enjoyed getting back into trials and want to keep on going with it. I have a Sherco 2004 200 cc 2 stroke. it has a tubeless tyre on the rear. I had to remove the tyre to fix a spoke and now the nipples leak all the air out... can anyone please help me solve this problem???? regards Asimo
  4. Thanks guys, I found the rectifier was not wired up correctly, I soldiered another wire to it and the fan worked so I reconnected the thermostat to see if it would work. after a half hour ride the thermostat opened and the fan came on for 2 minutes then off so I rode longer and the fan operated for a longer period of time. I will go for a ride on the weekend and give it a full test I have also made up a bridging wire to connect the thermostat wires together in case it stops working. thanks again for your help regards asimo
  5. Many thanks I will try that tomorrow. are the yellow wires the earth as it is on my bike. which is the rectifier? is it the little box under the fuel tank? which way should the fan run? I still cannot get over how I can get help from people all over the world, it pretty amazing. I race go karts and nobody helps you, totally different cheers asimo
  6. hi my Sherco 2004 200cc 2stroke fan doesn't work.. I tested the fan on its own and it works how do I test the thermostat? I had to have the motor rebuilt and I may have wired up the thermostat wrong... anyone know which wires go where? can I remove the thermostat and wire up the fan for manual use? what do you think? any help would be appreciated. the bike goes great, starts first go every time, it had been seized before I bought it but after a rebuild its unreal. I have never seen the fan go, I ride it for half an hour every day but it gets hot so I turn it off. thanks for the help last time regards asimo .

    Sherco Help No Fuel

I have the Sherco going, I have a ringing noise coming out off the flywheel cover flywheel is not rubbing on the cover and the stator is not rubbing on the inside of the flywheel. this is the first Sherco I have ridden and heard. when I take off the cover the noise is quieter any ideas please.

    No Starty ?

I don't know why there is a line underneath this... the scrapping noise was coming from the plastic flywheel cover . my main concern is the main bearings as there is up and down movement and the tips of the stator is scratching the insede of the fly wheel. I will try to measure it tomorrow. cheers asimo

    Sherco Help No Fuel

I think lineaway is right.. I took off flywheel and stator again I could feel a small amount of up and down play in the main bearing I think that's why I found wear marks inside the fly wheel when i took it off how much play can I get away with, so I can ride it. basically I want to ride it know as I need to get fit and practice. what happens if it fails? Are the mains push on bearings and is it a big job to change them do I have to split the cases??? its ironic we get it going, fix the stator now this problem. its got great compression, what would make the mains wear out. the bike is starting first kick now every time as I keep testing it. thanks again asimo

    Sherco Help No Fuel

I finally got the Sherco going today. I as wrong it wasn't fuel it was electrical all i can do is tell you what I did to fix it as I am not sure what part was not working, coils, trigger??? Sherco Perth loaned me a puller and some advice so today I pulled of the flywheel and the stator, old one it was rusty and filthy, So I cleaned everything with carby cleaner and compressed air. then I noticed the stator had been rubbing on the inside off the fly wheel so I sanded both surfaces with wet and dry 400. I pulled out the plug and kicked it over and saw a big spark. so I put it all back together and went for a 30 minute ride. then I noticed a loud screeching noise coming from the fly wheel cover so I guess its rubbing again only worse. not sure why its doing it but will strip it down again. just want to say a BIG THANKTOU for all the help you guys gave me. its good to know what was wrong and to go riding again. thanks again any ideas on why the stator is rubbing on the fly wheel would be appreciated. cheers asimo

    No Starty ?

good news the Sherco is going, I have had a ride on some home made sections. I thought it was the fuel, wasn't.i got it wrong. all I can tell you is what I did to get it to go. I received the puller today from Sherco perth and took off the flywheel then removed the stator, old one. everything was filthy and I didn't know what did what , trigger??? so I cleaned everything with carby cleaner and sanded the ends of the stator to get the rust off used wet and dry 400 then I sanded the inside of the fly wheel. when I had done this I noticed the ends of the stator had been dragging on the inside of the fly wheel. I reassembled and kicked over the bike and she started first go, so I went for a ride for half an hour. the problem now is I can hear scraping noises coming from the stator and flywheel so I will have to go back in. I just want to thank everyone who gave me advice, in the end I am riding again and we found out what was wrong. thankyou asimo

    No Starty ?

hi I am doing my best but Sherco wont go. a mate came and had a look at her . he kicked it over while I held onto the plug, no spark. He seems to think it is the stator, switch and or coil????? so I will take a look at the stator and see what I can find where would I be able to get a new updated stator? or coil?? A big thanks to everyone who has given me advice as I be lost without it. cheers asimo

    Sherco Help No Fuel

hi guys thanks for the help but Sherco still doesn't go a friend dropped around and kicked it over as I held onto the spark plug and we couldn't get a spark he thinks its the stator, trigger and or the coil?????? at this point I am ready to try anything. if its the stator, where can I get a new updated one? cheers Asimo ps thanks to you guys I have learnt a lot about Sherco in a very short time. I spent a couple of hours building some easy sections with a front end loader. I hope to ride them one day. optimist
