  2. What length shock should I go for on the rear ? 360mm or 400mm ? I'm 6'1" tall and 13st Would 40lb springs be correct ?
  3. Pure gloss white looks good.
  4. Has anyone relocated their foot pegs whilst retaining the original mount ? Or does this need cutting off, and the new mounts welding on ? Either way, photos would be great
  5. What number of teeth is the best combination when trialling the mar?

Are the OSSA spokes the same as any other make of bike ? Otherwise where is the cheapest place to get spokes and nipples ?
  8. It would seem my carburettor is off an ossa mar 350 http://www.milanuncios.com/motos-clasicas/amal-ossa-mar-350-627-429-151672636.htm Should I re jet it? Is this a period upgrade? Or has the previous owner fitted the wrong carb?
  9. I have an Amal carburettor with the number 627 cast into it and 429 stamped into it. Is this the standard mar carburettor? The main jet is a 140 and the needle jet is a 106. Are these somewhere near correct? My new (to me) mar has apparently come from Italy if that might make a difference
  10. That's just what I wanted to here, thank you. I'll strip it down this week and have a look I currently have a piece of fuel pipe wedged in a fin that stops the lever from moving
  11. I haven't attempted to remove it yet, but my kick-start is loose, ie. It doesn't stay in the folded position to keep it out of the way during riding. Is there a warn part I can replace / build back up with weld? Or is it a case of throw it away and completely replace?

My sump plug seems to protrude quite far out past the sump, I guess it's possible that the previous owner fitted a different plug?? Could someone please post a photo of their genuine sump plug?

Is there anywhere I can download or get a manual of the Ossa Mar?

What is the correct procedure for tensioning the chain on the mar?

Should the sump guard have a spacer between the bottom chassis mounts and guard? And should it also have the steel piece between the bolts and the guard, like it does on the front mount? Without a spacer the sump drain plug is below the guard.
  16. One last thought, after reviewing Ossa images on Google. Many have speedos and mine doesn't could this be my problem?
  17. My spindle does look like this (other that the end is broken off where the hole is) Your right in that it isn't the spindle that pulls the shocks together. I miss stated what happened when I first removed the spindle. I first loosened off the clamp bolts and the shocks then 'sprung' apart. So the last person to build them must of pulled them together before tightening the clamp bolts? I wonder if I have a mk1 wheel on a mk2 bike and without the 2nd spacer? Could someone please measure the inside distance between their shocks where the wheel and spacers should be. How can I tell the difference between a mk1 and mk2 wheel? All help and advice is truly appreciated.

  19. I spoke to the guy at Inmotion today, and he looked at some part diagrams, and he said that it seems that early bikes had it on the right, then it moved to the left, and then later on it moved back to the right!?
  20. My forks have 2 M6 clamp bolts on each shock, so are mk2. I have one spacer on the right (the opposite side to the brake). I'll have to have another look. Is it possible the shock is bent?
  21. Should there be a spacer on both sides of the front wheel? I have just undone the clamp bolts for the spindle and the shocks sprung away from each other.. Are they bent or am I missing a spacer? Pictures of the full set up would be great.
  22. How do i find the manufacturer date of my Ossa and get this info to register for road use?
  23. Both me and my mate have an ossa mar. Yesterday we had them side by side and we noticed that my bike has the brake on the left, and his is on the right? Which is correct? When googling images of ossa's we have found both?
