  1. Hi yes i have rode an event, and just felt that the bike didn't quite have the length in 2nd, and more usable for trials riding, seems gearing is a bit of a black art lol Dan
  2. Hi All I know its a very late reply to this topic, but i have only just joined, i am interested in this topic as i am currently trying to make my 2015 sherco St 300 have a more usable 1st and 2nd gear, so was contemplating changing to a 11T front sprocket, and keeping my rear as standard 42, which i guess takes my ratio from say 4.2 > 3.81 which is about 10% i believe, but since the sherco runs a 5 speed box and say a beta evo 300 runs a 6 speed, but is running the same gearing 11T 42T is the ratio really the same ???? also i was told moving up one tooth on the front, will make my 1st gear into say 2nd and so on, but if the difference is only 10% surly thats all the difference will be is only 10% longer gearing , any in sight would be great and thanks to all in the previous posts. regards Dan
  3. Hi Steve I take it your bike is running standard 10T 42T or have you had many mods done, i know mine on the carb has been a little bit of a pain but now running a 3.5 slide seems a bit better, 2nd on mine on some sections can just feel like am at the end of the rev range, and 3rd really shouldn't be needed maybe the 41T rear will just give me that very little bit extra.
  4. And i guess the same will apply to 2nd now being more like 3rd, whats the best method to lengthen the 1 and 2 slightly, if this is possible. thank you
  5. Hi all, This is my first post on here, and am pretty new to shercos, has anybody changed there front sprocket to an 11T, if so whats the main effects, as someone told me going up one tooth at the front, is equivalent to moving 1st gear to 2nd, and 2nd gear to 3rd, any advice would be greatly appreciated. regards Dan
