  1. All sorted thanks guys. Managed to get in touch with a guy on Facebook who helped me out massively this morning swapping loads of bits over from his bike and spares stock. Started with the tank, then injector, coil, plug, thermostat, eventually changed the throttle body and that sorted it. The diagnostics says I still have an injector issue but it seems to run fine now. Thanks for all your contributions. Me and my bike are mates again
  2. I'm toying with the idea of sending the injector off to a specialist for testing and refurbishment, has anyone on the forum any experience of this ?
  3. The only earth I can find is a lug with 2 wires crimped into it and secured to the coil mounting bracket. I've cleaned up the lug and washer and reassembled but no better. Any idea where else to look for earth points ?
  4. Did you use the plug in diagnostics jonny and if you did, did you get the injector fault ? I've changed the plug once but I'm about to do so again. I've had the pump out of the tank and it looks clean.
  5. Hi Guys I'm new to the forum, I've got a 2008 Repsol 4RT which has done very little from new. I bought it last year from a nice genuine guy in the North East and had a good ride before I agreed to buy it. Whipped off the front and back wheels, dropped the bars and put it in the back of the car for the uneventful journey home. When I got it home I had a couple of instances where during a drop it would die on me. So I did some research and removed and linked out the bank angle sensor. I tested it before removing it and the bike would shut off when leant over one side but not the other so it looks like it was faulty. Anyway, it never did run perfect despite the sensor linking. It fires up OK and ticks over but there are occasional periods where there is a miss, sometimes a spell where it will die for a fraction of a second and sometimes it will die altogether. When I'm riding it there has been occasions where it's died as I've opened it up for a step-up and there are occasions where in 3rd or 4th powering up a hill there is a distinct lack of power. I've been tinkering with it more the last few days and I've now had the injector out and cleaned it. The reason for this is that I connected up the diagnostics tool and it gave me 12 blinks suggesting injector connect, wiring or the injector itself. I've checked the wiring for rubs and damage and it looks OK. I've also cleaned the connector block but no change. I've run the fuel pump off the bike with 12v across it and it seems OK. Plenty of fuel pressure if I back off the banjo that connects up to the injector module so I don't think it's the pump. I'm reluctant to buy a new injector module to "try" as they're £285 new (!) Can anybody else make any suggestions as what to try before I either shell out for an injector or book it into the workshop for a repair ? Or does anyone have a spare injector that they'd consider selling or loaning out to me in return for some beer tokens ? Many thanks, really appreciate any help you can offer.
  6. Nice one I might well look at joining Horsforth, often wondered what those woods were like. We have a smallholding in Otley with about 25 acres of land, some of it steep and woody so I'm pretty spoilt without even leaving home. Bit of variety is always good though.
  7. Hey Telecat. I'm in Otley so probably not too far from you.
  8. Hi guys After a few years off trials bikes and on faster stuff I've ditched my 700 Raptor and bought a 1997 Monty 315. A few jobs to do on it but pretty sound all in all. Fork seals to do and brakes are really weak so I'll be re-sealing the calipers and seeing if that sorts it. Steve
