Crank seals replaced. First time bike has been run in at least ten years. (Not by me). After several tries starting, poured a little petrol in plug hole. It then started but just proceeded to rev until I hit the kill switch. Left it for half hour or so, started again with same result.
Amal carb fitted. Needle was on bottom setting. I've now moved it to middle but bike won't start now. Not sure if it's because I've moved needle position or just that it's a pig to start anyway.
l'm having trouble tightening my clutch centre nut up to the correct torque (65lbf). Can any body suggest a method or know where I can get a suitable clutch holding tool from? I'm in the UK
I have fitted a headlight to my OSSA MAR using the rubber straps, but it is very loose. I cannot see any way of tightening the straps. Am I missing something?
I am rebuilding my OSSA. It never had a rear brake cable when I got it. I have the rear brake cable with the nipple one end and adjuster thread the other. I seem to be missing some parts like a 9mm barrel for the thread to pass through and a nut for adjustment. Can anybody advise?
See attached pictures for frame and hub cable fitting points.
I have fitted sealed bearings in my OSSA MAR mk3 front wheel. Do I need to get felt washers for when I fit the wheel back into the forks? If so where can I get them from? Note: This is a restoration I'm doing and there were no felt washers when I took the wheel apart.
I am restoring a 1976 OSSA MAR mk3. It to had been painted black and I rubbed it down ( not to bare metal) and sprayed it with this from EBay, using the primer suggested from the same supplier: FORD 3 SILVER FOX Aerosol Spray Paint 400ML Direct Shine Gloss https://ebay.us/iZJdtU
3 coats primer with 20 minutes between coats and 3 top coats with 20 minutes between coats. I didn't rub down between coats unless I got any runs. The attached picture shows the finished frame. Like you I want to do everything myself, so lots of reading on the internet etc.
Not powder coated. I rubbed down the paint on the frame, it had been (hand ?)painted black. Then sprayed it with rattle cans. Three coats of primer, four top coats (silver fox).
Does anybody know what the bracket shown in the attached picture, on my OSSA MAR MK3 frame is for? Is it for mounting a horn? If so, does anybody have a horn that fits?
I am rebuilding an OSSA MAR MK3 and am missing the felt seals and covers for the steering assembly upper and lower bearings. Any ideas where I can get them from.
Also after lights and horn and switch, and, lights and speedo mounting rubber brackets.
Can any body tell me if the 76 OSSA MAR was available with a black frame? I am starting the restoration on one and it is painted black. All the pictures I have seen seem to show a silver frame.
