  1. Went out the weekend for a good 3 hours. Seal held with no leaks! Winner winner! Not classing as a permanent fix but will do for now until I can go d a decent 2nd hand 1.
  2. Update. Used JB weld. Let set for over a week, mostly because I haven't had time to put back together haha. Put back together tonight. Used some hose to space fan cowl away. Started her up with cap off till fan came on. Topped up once cooled down. Put back together completely and started up again till fan came on. Haven't had chance to ride it yet but all signs are looking good so far!
  3. I have a leaky radiator! It's from where the fan cowling has rubbed through the veins. Worn a hole in 3 or 4 of them ?. Took it to my usual weld/repair guy and he says it's too close to the tank on bottom to be welded as tannins sweated into place and would ruin it. As far as I can tell this seems to be a known issue. Has anybody successfully repaired this fault and found a way to stop it from reoccurring? Don't fancy a new 1 at over £300 ?. Seen some people have used araldite, Ive got some jb weld and fancied giving it a go. Any recommendations?
  4. The amount of play side to side makes me think it has been filed down before and therefore I'm hesitant to do it again as I will only add to the amount of free play. Clutch is quite noisey (whining/whiring). Do you think this could be from the amount of play it already has?
  5. I am looking to replace the clutch on my 2007 290 as it's sticking/dragging quite a bit. The plates seem to have a bit of sideways movement sitting the basket. Would this be from someone filing the grooves out of the basket previously? There are some grooves in the basket now so would like to replace it as I put new plates in. Only trouble is I can't seem to source 1. Everywhere seems to be out of stock and it's labelled as discontinued on splat shop. Any ideas where I could source 1? Thanks
  6. Cheers for replies. I think the 1 they rigged up might be too short by the time I've got a washer on the back ?. It sealed before but I just want it right so I'm not worried about it.
  7. New guy here. Recently bought 1st trials bike. A sherco 290 2007. Really happy with it and went out 1st time last weekend and loved it! I replaced the oil before I went as wasn't sure on the last time this was done. I've decided to change out the coolant last night and when i removed the drain bolt out the side if the water pump, noticed it was a cut down bolt obviously not made for the job. The sealing washer was not there either! I've found the correct sealing washer online but cannot find the dimensions for the bolt I need to replace it properly? Anybody shed any light on this please? Also last week the clutch was sticking quite a bit, even when hot. I had to give it a bit of revs with the clutch lever held in to free it. Would swapping to a different oil help this or is my clutch shot? I put 450ml of silkolene light gear oil 75w in. Thanks for your help in advance ?
