  1. Hi all,

Finally last Saturday bought a 2015 ST250, haven't had the chance to ride it yet but can't wait. As mentioned here by someone the clutch is stuck but haven't tried to free it up yet. Any mods or upgrades you guys recommend, as I'm thinking to strip her down and check bearings and bits and bobs because she's been stored for the last year.

I have really enjoyed my 2015 ST250 from new and have no plans to replace it anytime soon. The gas cap in the rear does need to be clean before you open it but not a big deal. The clutch sticks it has been sitting for a while but frees up easily if you rock it back and forth a few times in 4th gear (common issue on lots of trials bikes).

    Thanks for your reply

The problematic Formula hydraulics of that year would be a concern. Be costly to convert over to AJP or Braktek, hopefully its already been done

Thanks for your reply, can you please let me know how do I check which one is on the bike?

  4. Hi all,

Started my trials journey last year when I joined Zona 1 and bought my first trials bike, a 1999 gasgas txt 250 that I sold last Saturday. Now looking to buy a newer bike and a 2014 sherco 250 caught my eye. Can you guys please help me, is there anything in particular I should look when I go to see the bike.? Is this a good bike to go for?

    Thanks

    Andre

Check earth wire from Voltage Regulator to frame making good contact.(no rust, loose, etc.) Its often a ring crimped wire using one of the  6mm coil mounting allen screws as ground. Bad earth = cooked regulator. Replacement Regulator wiring slightly different to older originals. GG UK helpful, as are Splatshop .

Check fan working OK by using 12V DC supply. (If stat is an inline one, worth replacing rubber sealing ring on a bike of that age (Pennies to buy)

Check stat with Multimeter . Should read Open circuit when cold  closed circuit when heated up (Ohms setting on Multimeter).

This voltage regulator don't have earth wire, just yellow and metal bracket that bolts on the frame. On the wiring diagram The Stator shows a value of 0.5 ohm and that is what I'm getting when I measure. Ordered today a new voltage regulator, I'll post latter if this was the problem/

  6. Hi guys,

New to trials, bought my second hand gasgas txt 250 from 2001, on the first ride she keeps throwing water out of the radiator.

Checked the voltage on the thermostat and not getting more than 4 volts. After checking all wiring loom, not getting more than 4v on the voltage regulator either.

I'm assuming the voltage regulator is faulty and after checking the resistance, is only measuring  2.5 mega ohm instead of the 4.42 mentioned on the wiring diagram.

Can anyone help with where can I find a replacement voltage regulator?

    Thanks in advance!!!
